Luxa: Digital Photo Frame
Turn a tablet into a frame
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New: your videos and Live Photos now play on the frame, not just stills. Free to use with the Classic frame — no subscription needed to see your own photos.
Don't let your old iPad gather dust.
Luxa turns any iPad or iPhone into a digital photo frame — your photos and your videos, with a clock, the weather and your calendar on screen.
A frame, not a screensaver
A full-screen slideshow that stays awake, with Ken Burns motion, smooth fades and Smart Focus keeping faces in frame on every crop. It dims itself at night and picks back up in the morning.
Your videos play too
Live Photos play their clip instead of freezing on a still — the thing most photo frames, hardware ones included, simply skip.
It skips the bad ones
On-device intelligence filters out screenshots, receipts, documents and blurry shots, so nobody has to curate an album by hand. Nothing is uploaded and no face data is ever stored.
Your photos, wherever they live
Apple Photos · Google Photos · Dropbox · OneDrive · Box · SMB shares on your NAS or Mac. Connect one or connect them all. The local library works with no internet at all.
Clock, weather and calendar
Classic puts a clock over full-screen photos. Digital Calendar adds a month grid, Digital Agenda your next few days — colour-coded from Apple or Google Calendar. A quiet home hub on a nightstand or a desk.
A gift that keeps updating
Set an old iPad up for parents or grandparents. New photos land on their shelf without them touching anything.
The Classic photo frame is free, forever. Luxa Pro adds the Calendar and Agenda presets, AI curation, Smart Focus, Ken Burns and weather — $2.99/month or $19.99/year, both with a 1-week free trial, or $49.99 once for lifetime access.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
A photo can now hold for anything from 3 seconds to a full hour. The slider moves second by second up to a minute, then minute by minute, so a long setting is as easy to land on as a short one.
Searching for your weather city now opens on its own screen. On a tablet in landscape the keyboard covered the suggestions, so the results were there and you could not see them.
Also: a subscription plan the store has not returned yet can no longer be tapped, and several screens that were still in English on a Romanian device are now translated.
And each photo source now says what it is before you connect it.
