CounterWeighted
Counterweight Calculator
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Counter Weighted is a counterweight calculator built for theatre technicians and live event riggers. Search for fixture weights, build a fly line with multiple fixtures, and get an instant brick count.
FIXTURE DATABASE
Search from a bundled database of over 100 common theatre and event fixtures from ETC, Robe, Martin, Clay Paky, Chauvet, Ayrton, Vari-Lite, ADJ, Selecon, and more. Every fixture works offline with no login required.
Optionally connect your free GDTF Share account to search over 7,000 additional fixtures. Weights are extracted directly from GDTF files and cached on your device for offline use.
Can't find a fixture? Add it manually by name, manufacturer, and weight.
MULTI-FIXTURE LINES
Add as many different fixture types as needed, each with individual quantities. Adjust counts with a tap.
CABLE & OTHER WEIGHT
Calculate cable weight automatically as a percentage of total fixture weight, or enter it manually. Add extra load for set pieces, practicals, scenic elements, or hardware.
FLEXIBLE BRICK OPTIONS
Choose from standard brick weight presets (10 kg, 11 kg, 12 kg, 15 kg) or enter a custom brick weight.
DOUBLE PURCHASE
Toggle 2:1 mechanical advantage. Required counterweight is halved automatically.
FULL RESULT BREAKDOWN
See total load with fixtures, cables, and other weight itemised. View required counterweight, bricks needed, actual counterweight, and surplus. A warning flags when surplus exceeds 85% of one brick weight.
METRIC & IMPERIAL
Switch between kilograms and pounds instantly in Settings. All data is stored in kilograms internally — switching units is lossless.
SAVE & SYNC
Save any calculation and recall it later. Saved lines sync automatically across all your devices with iCloud.
7-DAY FREE TRIAL
Try everything free for 7 days. Then continue with a monthly or yearly subscription.
Calculations are a guide only. Always verify counterweight requirements independently before loading any fly system.
