Custom cockpit panels: up to five tabs holding just the cards you need, resized like home-screen widgets, shareable as files. A new card follows your ongoing trace recording on a live mini chart, coloured by speed. Units converter in Knowledge: length, speed, temperature and position formats, plus a Tools filter in search. Also man-overboard button fixes, current particles that drift with the set, and AIS coverage pages in every language.

Man overboard: hold the new MOB button on any screen to drop a point with an alarm — pulsing marker, live magnetic bearing, distance and time in water, plus a drift area from wind and current, on the map and in the camera view. Also new: draw, measure and save multi-leg routes; export points, routes and your position as GPX, KML, CSV or GeoJSON; import GPX from other apps; searchable Points and Routes tabs in Waypoints; a distance scale bar on every map.

The map now runs much cooler: rendering and networking fetch less and reuse more, so long passages drain less battery. Charts load over a visible base map instead of blank tiles, Conditions no longer shows black squares, and a new button flips Map/Satellite. Bathymetry and Conditions gain opacity sliders. Offline downloads cover the area you're viewing, with per-layer choice and size estimates; deleting an area never breaks an overlapping one. Finland's chart was retired upstream.

Downloaded chart marks now open a detail page: name, type, position, mini-map, live bearing/distance and the light. Lights animate their real flash rhythm from the chart data, with a standard light shown when the chart has none. Cardinal marks show their quadrant and topmark. Your waypoints share the page (with Edit), tapping a mark opens a quick info card, and the cockpit course-over-ground card is now a head-up compass. Plus sharper on-device training capture.

AR horizon detection: the camera now identifies the real horizon line and snaps nautical marks, waypoints and vessels to it, even while the boat heels. Horizon calibration is now automatic and stays level with the real sea horizon even as the phone tilts, no longer thrown off by hills or coastline behind the water. At night, when there's no horizon to lock onto, a manual nudge keeps your marks, waypoints and vessels aligned. New switches in the AR layers menu: horizon detection on/off and a battery saver that reduces camera processing. Camera now detects vessels in the AR view and matches them to AIS targets; confirmed vessels snap to the boat you see (solid outline), unidentified craft show as neutral markers. AR now identifies blinking lights at night: watches the flash rhythm and matches it against your downloaded charted lights (e.g. Fl(2) R 10s), confirming the mark by name; lights not on your charts show their observed pattern so you can match them yourself. Tap an unidentified vessel marker to label what kind of craft it is. Train the eyes of the fleet: opt in to training-data collection in Settings, and your sightings of boats, buoys and lights help sharpen moodSailor's camera recognition, keeping advanced vision free for every sailor. Captures stay on your phone, sharing is always your choice, and you can wipe them in a single tap. Morse receive mode: point the camera at a blinking light, tap it, and the app decodes the Morse to text live and can speak the result.

A big update - everything new since v11. AIS VESSEL TRACKING - Nearby AIS vessels show on the map and in the AR POI Finder, appearing within about a second of opening the view instead of after a long wait, and the area being queried follows you as you move. - In AR, vessel positions are predicted from the last reported course and speed. Stale fixes get a dashed outline and an age label; very old ones are hidden. A chip shows in-range, stale and occluded counts, and off-screen vessels get edge chevrons. - Vessels are drawn as 3D side-view shapes at true angular size; nearer ones hide those behind, and hulls sit on the horizon. Status icons (anchored, sailing, aground) appear on the symbol and the badge. - Tap a vessel for full detail: a live "last seen" age that counts up, range and bearing, speed, course and more. You choose which fields the card shows. "More info" opens MyShipTracking inside the app. KNOWLEDGE: MORSE & FLAGS - A new reference section. Translate any message into international signal flags (ICS) or Morse code on the fly, or tap letters and digits in the grid to build one. - Play Morse through the speaker (a clean 600 Hz tone) or blink it on the torch, with no extra permission. NATO / ICS toggle for number flags. - Two-letter ICS signals and a Racing Rules of Sailing page, with a live meaning hint as you type. Everything works offline. ON-THE-WATER TOOLS - The magnetic variation and tides tools let you pick any point on the map; tide data fetches automatically on a long press. WAVES & SWELL - Wave and swell are now part of the weather: height, direction and period, both in the forecast and along your recorded tracks. - Heights use a colour scale, so a glance tells you what's building, and arrows show the direction the waves are travelling. - A new pane lets you choose exactly which weather fields appear in the forecast sheet. In the trace editor the same data is grouped into Wind, Sea and Sky sections. OFFLINE DOWNLOADS - Map tiles, weather, marine data and nautical marks now download together instead of one after another, so saving an area is faster. - When weather can't be fetched you get a clear, offline-aware message with a Retry button instead of a silent gap, and fetching is more reliable on flaky connections. COCKPIT - The compass is now a dial with a heading needle and cardinal marks, not just a number. - Speed shows a trend sparkline under the reading, and the tide card now shows the next high or low with its time and height. - On tablets the Cockpit keeps the same clear layout as on a phone but uses the extra space for larger, more readable cards. RECORDING & PRIVACY - A track that is still recording is clearly marked "In progress" and is protected from accidental deletion. - Before the system asks for "always" location, a clear in-app screen explains what is used and why. Your location data stays on the device and is only shared if you export a trace yourself. - A new branded launch screen. LANGUAGES - Dozens of screens that still appeared in English are now fully translated in every supported language.
