# Church Pilgrim
Discover the history, architecture, stories, and sacred landscapes of churches across the United Kingdom.
Church Pilgrim is a growing digital archive designed to help people explore parish churches, abbeys, chapels, monasteries, ruins, and sacred places more deeply — whether through history, pilgrimage, photography, architecture, or simple curiosity.
From small rural churches hidden in quiet valleys to great medieval abbeys and cathedrals, Church Pilgrim brings together information that is often scattered across archives, guidebooks, parish records, and local memory into one accessible place.

* Ancient churchyards
* Victorian restorations
* Forgotten chapels
* Stories tied to local communities and landscapes
Church Pilgrim exists to help preserve and share these stories before they disappear.

Church Pilgrim is designed to help you explore more intentionally.
## A Growing Community Archive
The project began in Berkshire from a personal interest in exploring churches and a growing concern that much local church history and knowledge risks being lost over time.
The archive continues to grow gradually, with new churches, histories, and features being added over time.
Church Pilgrim is not simply about buildings, but about preserving the stories, memory, craftsmanship, faith, and human history held within them.
