A small update to the chord editor. • When a chord's root or bass note can be written two ways, the editor now says what the two buttons under it are for: the same note, spelled differently. Chord names now read the way a musician would write them. • Slash chords name the bass as a chord tone: B/D# instead of B/Eb, D/F# instead of D/Gb, C#/E# in A major. • Transposed charts avoid hard-to-read spellings: no double flats or sharps, and B instead of Cb when the key doesn't use it. The Roman numerals under each chord keep their meaning, such as bVI. • Charts saved with an earlier version are corrected once when you open them, so a B/Eb you entered before now reads B/D#. The sound doesn't change. • The chord editor shows the same spelling as the chart, and changing a chord's quality keeps its Roman numeral. Thanks to the guitar teacher who reported this. More ways to practice your charts, with clearer rhythm and more accurate chords. • Play in 6/8 and 12/8 with matching count-ins and beat markers, try the new Jazz Waltz style, and change the meter of individual bars. • Import iReal Pro charts with their supported meter changes intact. Afro charts now select Afro accompaniment instead of Latin Jazz. • Edit and transpose complex chords more reliably, with improved note spelling and a new sharp-five option in the chord editor. • Hear smoother accompaniment: repeated notes and bass fills no longer cut off other notes unexpectedly. This update makes it much easier to bring your iReal Pro charts into BackingBand. Import from iReal Pro • In iReal Pro, export a song or a whole playlist (Share → Export Chord Chart → iReal Pro Format) and open it in BackingBand. It goes straight to the import screen. • Or tap Choose file in Import from iReal Pro and pick a file you exported • Playlists: tick the songs you want, or tap Select all, and import them in one go • Importing a song again updates your earlier import instead of adding a duplicate. If you edited it, you get a new chart and your edits stay. • Pasted links now work with extra text around them, and titles with an apostrophe (like Moanin') no longer break the import • When a song can't be imported yet, the list tells you why, such as a time signature we don't play yet Fixes • Your saved charts no longer show up empty in Mine when the app is slow to start Thanks for playing along.
