Plate Daddy is the gym log that actually programs you. Pick a progression engine — Progressive Overload, the 7-set Power Matrix, 5/3/1, or Manual — and the app calculates your exact next set: the load, the reps, the next move. No spreadsheet babysitting.
FOUR ENGINES THAT DO THE MATH
Progressive Overload — auto-adds weight or reps the moment you earn it. Free for your first 6 months.
Power Matrix — a 7-set intensity ramp that builds top-end strength without the guesswork.
5/3/1 — the classic percentage-based strength cycle, calculated and tracked for you.
Manual — total control when you want to drive every number yourself.
Set your training max once and Plate Daddy handles the progressions, deloads, and "what do I do today?" every single session.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED MID-SET
Built-in plate calculator — see exactly what to load on the bar.
Rest timer, supersets, drop sets, AMRAP sets, and RPE tracking.
Per-exercise notes, form guides, and one-tap set logging.
In-workout music from Apple Music or Spotify — no app-switching.
Live Activity on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, plus an Apple Watch companion.
BUILD ANY SPLIT
Run a ready-made program or build your own — push/pull/legs, upper/lower, full body, 5x5, and more.
Multiple programs and training days, reorder exercises, swap movements, set per-exercise rest.
TRACK EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS
Automatic PR detection with a Trophy Wall and shareable certificates.
Estimated 1RM for every lift, with all-time and per-exercise history.
Volume and strength trends, a muscle-split breakdown, training streaks, and a calendar.
Apple Health sync so your training counts everywhere.
GO BEYOND THE BARBELL
Body tracker — log bodyweight and measurements and watch the trend line move.
Meal planner — line your nutrition up next to your training.
Import your history from another app so you start with your numbers intact.
MADE YOURS
15 one-tap themes and two app icons — Plate Daddy and Plate Mommy. Strong has no gender.
A shareable Lifter ID and workout cards built to post to Strava, Instagram, Snapchat, and more.
Works fully offline. No account, no login, no friction.
YOUR DATA, YOUR RULES
No ads. No data brokers. Your training history lives on your device and syncs only through your private iCloud — never our servers.
GUIDED FROM DAY ONE
New to lifting or new to programming? The guided setup builds a plan around your goals, your schedule, and the equipment you actually have — then the engine takes it from there.
WHO IT'S FOR
Beginners who want to be told exactly what to do, and experienced lifters who want their programming automated and all of their data in one place.

Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Tonnage milestones. Every pound you lift adds up, and now the app shows you what it adds up to. Cross a milestone after a workout and you’ll get a celebration: “You’ve now lifted a Chevy Impala” — or a school bus, a blue whale, a Boeing 747, a Saturn V rocket, the Eiffel Tower, the Titanic, the Great Pyramid. Nearly 200 stages with real weights, climbing from your first workout to planet Earth, each with its own drawing. Your existing history counts from day one.
Weekly and monthly recaps. The first time you open the app after a week or month closes: “Last week you lifted 124,500 lb — about as much as an M1 Abrams tank.” One tap to dismiss. Turn them off anytime from the Trophy Wall.
Share your tonnage. Milestones and weekly/monthly recaps have their own posters now — the same share-to-Instagram, Facebook and Photos pipeline as workouts and trophies. Share from the pop-up, from any earned stage on the ladder, or from the new LAST WEEK and LAST MONTH cards on the TONNAGE tab.
The ladder. A new TONNAGE tab on the Trophy Wall shows your lifetime total, what’s next and how far off it is, and every stage you’ve crossed with the date you crossed it.
Day history. A HISTORY button on every workout day shows every session you’ve logged for it — all exercises, sets, weights and reps, newest first, as far back as you like — without starting a workout or interrupting the one you’re in. Tap any exercise for its full history.
Exercise history by day. When the same exercise lives on two days — bench press on Chest Day 1 and on Chest Day Max — the history sheet now labels every session with its day and gives you a chip for each, so the two never mix.
Exercises browser. A new EXERCISES button in the Home utility row opens the whole catalog: every muscle group, every equipment type, every exercise, with a page per exercise showing last done, best set, estimated 1RM, which days it appears on, and a HISTORY button. Build custom exercises from any muscle group, browse and manage your custom library, and open the superset, drop set and HIIT builders from the same place. Your level now sits above the Settings gear.
Replace Exercise. Long-press any exercise in a workout day and choose Replace. QUICK PICK offers two or three exercises from the same muscle group, with the ones you’ve done before first, or open the full exercise list. The new exercise takes the old one’s exact spot — no reordering afterward.
Exercise notes that find you. Leave a note on an exercise (“use the metal grip bar”) and it pops up the next time that exercise comes around, with your full note history and timestamps. Dismiss it for today or forever; turn it back on from the notes screen anytime.
Day view. The exercise list header is cleaner: EXERCISES on its own line with HISTORY, DETAILS and REORDER underneath. Convert to Superset and Convert to Drop Set are in the long-press menu on the day view itself. The Edit Exercise screen has its own HISTORY button.
Fixes. Trophy celebrations now play after the workout screen closes instead of behind it. Poster text is readable on light themes.
