Maps now work with no signal from the very first launch, including place names. Terrain downloads reliably include contour lines, areas missing them are repaired automatically, and terrain options return on their own once you have signal. Links that cannot open now show the address instead.

Offline maps are easier to find: open them straight from the Home screen. Downloaded areas now include terrain with shaded relief and contour lines. You can now contact support from Settings.

New: pick a color theme in Settings, including Forest Light, Desert, Night Red for night vision, and one that follows your phone's light or dark setting.

On tablets, the buttons at the bottom of the offline area packs map now sit above the taskbar, so selecting several areas at once works again. The code entry card on the upgrade screen now has a button that closes it, and a tap outside the card closes it too.

Pro features are easier to find, including Plant ID and Mushroom & Lichen ID. The Rate button now opens the store review page. New cold weather chapters cover layering, snow shelters, ice safety and cold injuries, plus 17 knot diagrams. Map cells picked for download stay highlighted when zoomed out.

This update is about speed and stability. The offline map pack picker now draws only the area you are looking at, so it opens faster and uses far less memory. That also clears up the freezing and unexpected closures some of you ran into on the map screen. Search now responds as you type. Plant and mushroom identification gives its memory back when you move on. Finding your location no longer gets stuck when there is no signal.

Fixes freezes and unexpected shutdowns during long sessions. Plant ID and Fungi ID now hand back the memory they use when you leave them, so the app stays responsive on older phones.

The complete survival manual, the full source text, the study guide, and Field Intel are now available in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian, Hindi, Japanese, and Korean. These are unverified machine translations of the official English text, labeled as such in the app, and you can switch back to the original English at any time.

Offline maps now keep every downloaded area in one map store. Areas you already downloaded are carried over automatically, so there is nothing to download again. Terrain and contour layers no longer show gaps where two areas meet. Fixes a crash while downloading map layers and a stall during batch downloads.

Fixed a rare crash that could close the app while you were changing the map basemap. The map now rebuilds after the layer sheet closes rather than at the same moment, which removes the timing fault behind it.

Offline maps and downloads got a round of fixes. The button that adds the base world map could not be pressed, and the retry button on a failed world map download was dead the same way. Both work now. A map layer that failed while an area was downloading used to report success and leave the layer quietly missing. Failed layers are now named so you can retry them. The downloads screen was under reporting storage because it ignored map layer archives. Totals now include them, refresh as downloads finish, and reclaiming storage also clears partly downloaded leftovers. Your purchase now stays unlocked when you have no signal, and the unlock screen offers a retry when the store cannot be reached.

Downloaded map layers now appear on the map straight away. Before this, a layer could finish downloading and still not show, and the layer count could stay out of date, until you left the map screen and came back.

This update fixes a startup problem that could leave the app stuck on the opening screen and never finish loading. Startup is now fast and reliable again. If the app stopped opening for you after the last update, please install this one.

New terrain basemaps for the areas you download: shaded relief and contour lines worldwide, plus USGS topographic maps and satellite imagery where they are available. These extra layers come with Army Survival Pro. The standard map stays free with every area you download. The paid unlock is now called Army Survival Pro. It was previously called Study Tools. Anything you already purchased still works, with no need to buy again. Also fixed: the app could close while updating a downloaded area; some areas kept offering an update that never went away; extra map layers did not appear until you left the screen and came back; and shaded relief and contour lines could break up where two neighbouring areas meet.

Maintenance update. Store listing details have been corrected. Nothing has changed in the manual, the offline maps, or the study tools.

Find offline maps faster. The new Offline Area Packs menu lets you download packs near you, search for any town or city, plan a trip and grab the packs you need before you lose signal, or draw a box or route on the map to save every pack it crosses. New Sun, Moon and Tides screen shows sunrise, sunset, first and last light, moon phase, and high and low tide times for your location, worked out on your device with no signal. Tides now cover coastlines worldwide.

Situation Assessment now links each recommended step to the exact section of the survival manual, so detailed instructions are one tap away. New Satellite SOS guide in the Signaling section explains how to check for satellite messaging on your phone and how to get a connection to call or text for help when you have no cell service.

You can now manage your downloaded offline maps. See them grouped by region and delete a whole area, or all of them, in one tap to free up space. Nearby roads, water, and emergency services are now far more accurate in and around towns and cities.

New in this update: Emergency help: SOS now shows the local emergency numbers for where you are (police, ambulance, fire, or the universal number), plus your GPS coordinates to read to rescuers. Works offline. The app's new tools are now translated into all supported languages. Situation Assessment: answer a few questions to get survival priorities in order, from your location, daylight, and offline maps. Regions: download whole states, parks, forests, trails, and countries in one tap. Select or lasso several areas to grab them together. Nearest water, roads, towns, and signal now span neighboring downloaded areas, with clearer drinking water guidance and a new More nearby list. Map update alerts, faster downloads, and stability fixes.

Fixed: the fungus and lichen identifier now downloads its model and works fully offline. It also tells you when a photo is not a confident match, instead of guessing a species. Fixed: live weather now shows metric units (Celsius and km/h) when metric is turned on, not just Fahrenheit.

Fixed: the offline maps (pack downloader, offline navigation, and signal finder) no longer snap back to your location while you pan or zoom. You can browse freely to far away areas.

This update makes Army Survival safer and easier to use in the field. New: a Tools tab and a one tap SOS button on the home screen put the signaling beacon, offline navigation, and plant ID one tap away. Safety: plant identification now gives clearer, more cautious edibility guidance and never presents a low confidence match as safe to eat. We reviewed and corrected key first aid and foraging content, including snakebite care, poisoning response, water treatment, and the edibility test. Reliability and readability: the compass warns when a heading is approximate, navigation flags a stale or imprecise location before you trust a bearing, trip tracking resumes reliably, and text is higher contrast with larger type support and better screen reader labels.
