Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Setting Pixfin up could leave you stranded on the Apple Health step, before you ever reached your first tank. This update fixes that. Pixfin asks for Health access by putting Apple's own permission window in front of you, and that window is where you say no if you want to. When it could not open at all, though, there was nothing there to decline and nothing to move you on: tapping Continue again simply failed the same way. Pixfin now tells you it couldn't connect, and goes on to the next step as soon as you close that message. Health is still optional, exactly as before, and you can allow access later in the Health app whenever you like.

Most of this update is about the two bars on your tank. Up to four water logs a day now grow your creature. That spreads its growth across the whole life of the tank instead of letting one afternoon of tapping mature it at once, so every day has its own bit of progress again. Once the day's four have landed, a line under the water bar tells you. Nothing else about logging changed: every glass still counts on today's total, still reaches the Health app, and still shows in Stats. If Pixfin isn't getting your steps, the tank now says so. A tank only finishes with both bars full, so without step access it could sit at zero indefinitely with nothing on screen to explain why. There is a note under the steps bar now, with wording of its own on iPad, where steps arrive from an iPhone or Apple Watch through the Health app. Neither bar counts past its target any more. A well-walked tank waiting on water could read 48,000 / 40,000; it now stops at the number it was walking toward. Every species in the gallery opens the same way. Tapping a species you had raised once went straight to that creature, while tapping one you had raised more often opened the list of them first. Now every species opens that list, however few creatures are in it, so it always tells you how many times you have raised that species. Canceling a restore no longer looks like a failure. Closing the App Store sign-in sheet used to leave an error message about a problem that had not happened.

Pixfin 2.0 is the biggest update since launch. TWO NEW WORLDS Satoyama takes you to Japan's countryside ponds and paddies, across a year of cherry blossom, fireflies, maple and snow. The Amazon River runs from flooded forest to blackwater night. Between them: a koi, a firefly that lifts off the water, a pink river dolphin, an electric eel, a piranha and an arapaima. 32 SPECIES, EVERY ONE ILLUSTRATED Every creature now has its own art at every growth stage, and the reef and the deep have new arrivals too - a peacock mantis shrimp, a blacktip reef shark, a sea pig and a blobfish. A GALLERY THAT IS A COLLECTION The gallery has been rebuilt around the full catalog. Every species has a slot from day one, grouped by habitat, so you can always see what you have collected and what is still out there. Raise the same species more than once and each creature keeps its own name, journey and history. Scrub back through any creature's growth stages, and see which days you walked and drank the most. NOW IN NINE LANGUAGES German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese join English.
