Reading and listening better • Books skip their endnotes and Notes sections instead of reading them to you. • Settings tells you which language Timber is speaking, written in that language. • Timber and its voices stopped translating their own names into other languages. • Restoring a backup asks first and keeps your notes, highlights and hidden phrases. • Deleting from the Library goes to the Trash instead of going for good. Voices • Several voice downloads that could stall, delete themselves, or never finish now work. • Voice sizes and language counts on the Voices page are read from the real catalog, so they match what you actually get.

Timber now notices a phrase that repeats page after page and shows you the list. One tap silences it for the whole document. You can also select any line and skip it everywhere. Drag and drop on iPad and Mac. Drop a file, a link, or a passage of text straight onto Timber and it imports: PDF, EPUB, Word, PowerPoint, pictures of pages, and web links. Play and pause, skip a paragraph, jump 30 seconds, change speed, set the sleep timer, and move between Home, Library, Add and Voices, all from the menu bar with keyboard shortcuts. Smoother listening. Play and pause now always show what is really happening, on the lock screen, in Control Center, in CarPlay and on headphones. The pause between paragraphs is shorter, especially over AirPlay, at higher speeds, and with the screen off. And more than forty fixes across importing, the Reader, your library, backups, and voice downloads.

- PDFs and ebooks can skip their footnotes and their Notes sections, so a history book reads straight through. It is on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings. - Footnotes stay on the page, shown lighter, and the little note numbers in the text are no longer read aloud. - Phrases can repeat on their own: 3, 5 or 10 times or until you stop, with a pause between repeats so you can say them back. - Practice lists play your chosen phrases in order and loop, and they keep going with the screen locked, with play, pause and skip on the lock screen.

Everything Timber has added since it first shipped. MORE KINDS OF THINGS TO READ Paste a link to a PDF, an ebook, a Word document or a PowerPoint and Timber reads it aloud. If a PDF is password protected, it asks for the password and opens it. It shows the language Timber is using right now and takes you straight to the iOS setting that changes it — handy if your phone is set to one language and you would rather read in another.
