Balance News: Compare Sources
Bias, Sources & Blindspots
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
See who covered each story, compare how headlines frame it, and find reporting gaps without ads, tracking, or an account.
Read the news without getting trapped in one publisher's frame.
Balance News groups reporting about the same event, shows which publishers on the left, center and right are covering it, and lets you read their headlines side by side. It is built for readers who want more context without more noise.
SAME STORY, DIFFERENT HEADLINES
• Every clustered story shows a left, center and right coverage bar for rated publishers
• Read every publisher's headline for the same story in one list and compare the framing
• Follow the source trail straight to the original reporting
FIND COVERAGE GAPS
• See stories that one side of the spectrum is covering and the other is not
• A gap only appears after at least two independently rated publishers report a story
KNOW THE PUBLISHER
• A searchable source index with political lean, factuality, ownership, country and state-funding context where available
• Ratings describe publishers, not individual articles. Unrated sources stay unrated and are never counted as center
YOUR DAILY EDITION
• A calm front page across world news, US politics, business, technology, science and climate
• Save stories with their source context for offline reading
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
FREE AND SUBSCRIPTION
The daily front page, coverage bars, the source index and links to the original reporting are free, plus one coverage gap. A monthly or yearly subscription unlocks the full headline comparison, complete source trails, every coverage gap, topic controls, saved stories and custom widgets. Any free trial and the current price in your currency are shown before you buy.
No ads, no tracking, no account. Balance News does not produce original reporting, and grouping or labels can occasionally be imperfect. Check anything important with the linked publishers.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged within 24 hours before renewal. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
