Beethovium is an ear-training and music-theory app for anyone who wants to hear music more clearly.
In this app you'll hear real music and use it to train your ear to recognise chords, chord qualities, intervals, scales and melodies. Explore the tabs to train the skill you want to learn.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Harmony: identify chords and progressions by ear, name written chords, and learn how Roman numerals describe the chords in a key.
Melody: hear and identify scales and melodic patterns, with scale degrees or a keyboard to anchor what you are listening to.
Theory: learn the concepts behind the sounds, from the twelve notes and semitones to major and minor keys, intervals and chord construction.
HOW IT WORKS
Each tab trains a different skill and the games and exercises give you immediate feedback. Listening comes first and the theory accompanies what you are learning to recognise by ear.
