Pick a color for the days you cover so they stand out from your regular shifts, and choose whether a partial trade fills the whole day or just the hours you work. Settings, under Shift Colors. Set how many hours your department lets you carry into the next leave year, and Frontline tells you on duty mornings when you are on track to lose some. Book the leave and the warning stops. Federal? One tap sets the OPM leave year for you. New: Bank any balance your department has. Add a balance now lets you make your own category - Kelly hours, holiday comp, whatever yours is called - not just the ones that come built in. New: Better reminder shortcuts. The night before your next shift, an hour before it, early in your next shift, or the morning of your next day off. New: Firefighters, EMS and Police in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand now get their own rotations, holidays and wording. The Toronto and Calgary 24-hour cycles, the UK 2-2-4 and 6 on 4 off, 10/14, 4x4 and more, with each country's own public holidays and words like annual leave, rest days and roster. New: Back up your schedule, and get it back. One tap saves everything you have entered - your rotation, shifts, trades, career record, certifications, hours and notes - as a single file you keep wherever you keep things: Files, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or emailed to yourself. New phone? Hit Restore, pick that file, and it all comes back. Frontline shows you which backup you picked, and what is in it, before anything is replaced. New: Seniority date. Federal departments run on a Service Computation Date - your hire date counted back for creditable military and prior federal service - so it usually falls earlier than the day you started. Add it on your Career dates screen and your Career screen shows it with the years and months worked out. Your shift count still runs off your hire date, where it belongs. New: Adding certifications got a lot faster. Tap a suggested name like ACLS, HazMat or Firearms qual and Frontline fills in how long it usually lasts. Or hit a Valid for button - 1, 2, 3 or 5 years - and it works out the expiry date for you. Set an issued-on date for a card you got a while back, and the next time one comes due, Renew remembers the cycle your own department uses and fills the new date in. Fixed: Date fields now show the year. Picking a date decades back - a hire date, an academy start - showed only the month and day, so a wrong year was invisible. Choose your rotation now starts with the four schedules most common in your country, has a search box that takes the words you actually use (10/14, Panama, 4 on 4 off, Kelly), and a full list of every rotation grouped by shift length. 23 rotations added, including 2 days / 2 nights / 4 off, the Rotating Pitman, London 2-2-4, day crewing, 4/10s, 5-4-4-5 and the Garda 4 and 4. Shift length now sits right on the setup screen next to the start time. New: Schedule posts shift by shift? Pick that and Frontline gives you brushes - Days, Nights, Earlies, Lates, On call - to paint the month as each schedule posts, with a running count of shifts and hours. Everything else works exactly as it does for a rotation: colors, widgets, PDF, sync, trades, career count. New: Your words and your clock. Outside the US the app now speaks the local language: 24-hour time, day-first dates, annual leave, shift swaps, watches, and the colour watches UK, Irish and NZ crews use - Red, White, Blue, Green. Set your country, clock and dates under Settings > Region and format, or let it follow your phone. New: On any rotation that mixes days and nights, setup now asks which one the day you tap starts, so your schedule can never land two weeks out. New: Partial shift trades. A trade no longer has to be a whole shift. Set either side to Partial, pick the window - 7:00 to 12:00, or the back half of a 24 - and Frontline works out the hours. The part people asked for is that it tracks the time. Every trade shows what it is worth, the ledger tells you flat out that you owe someone 7 hours, and the top of the Trades tab keeps a running total with each person across every open trade - what a trade book is for, without the trade book. A half-traded day shows as a split day on your calendar and your widgets, so a shift you are only half working never looks like a full one, and your shifts push to your other calendars with the hours you actually work. Partial trades are part of Pro. New: Send someone your rotation. Settings, then Share my rotation, gives you a code to scan and a link to text. A new hire points a camera at it and has the schedule on his phone. Your spouse taps the link and your work days land on theirs. Whoever gets it chooses whether it becomes their own schedule or is saved as yours, and nothing is written until they pick. Free on both ends - and only the rotation travels. Your events, trades, notes and hours stay on your phone. Also: choose the color your partner's days show in, and how strongly - thirteen colors, including dark grey. Also for police, dispatch and EMS: a new Pitman 2-2-3 (Rotating) for two weeks of days and two weeks of nights. New: Reminders. Tap + and pick Reminder for anything that is not an event - a call to return, a form to turn in, gear to pack. Title, date, time, an optional note, and your phone tells you. What makes it different is that a reminder can ride your rotation. One tap sets it for before your next shift, the night before your next shift, the morning of your next day off, or your last shift this month, and Frontline works out the real date and time from your own schedule. Need one sooner? One tap for 1, 4, 12 or 24 hours from now, or set your own. A small bell marks the day on the calendar, and every reminder sits on that day's page to edit or cancel. New: Notes. A note is a title and whatever you need to write under it, and it can be pinned to a day or left loose. Pinned notes show on that day's page and print with your PDF. The rest live under Menu > Notes, grouped and searchable, so the things you want to remember are not scattered through your events. The old one-box-per-day note is gone, and everything you had written in it has been carried over as a note pinned to that same day. Nothing you wrote is lost. Have a request? If your department moves you between watches on announced dates - nights starting Oct 6, back to days in January - add the change under Settings and every work day from that date takes the new watch. Your work days never move, the months behind you stay exactly as they were, and the widgets, calendar sync and reminders all follow. Asked for by a Police member; built the same week. New: Swing shifts. Days, swings and nights each get their own color, so a department that rotates you through the watches can see which one every day is at a glance. Pitman 2-2-3 (Swings), 4 on / 4 off (Swings) and a 21-day Rotating watches preset join the Police list, and every shift's name, start time and length now lives under Settings > Shift hours, in your department's own words. New: "Missing a calendar?" help. If a Google calendar you use is not showing up under Calendars In, a new screen walks you through the two switches that hide it (one in the Google app, one on Google's sync page), with a subscription fallback for a locked-down department account. The calendar list also refreshes itself now, so a calendar you just added shows up without reopening the screen. Faster and steadier under the hood. Optimized several portions of the code base. New: 911 Dispatch. A fourth tab in onboarding, next to Fire, EMS and Police, with the rotations comm centers actually run - 4 on / 4 off, Pitman, 2 days / 2 nights / 4 off, 4 on / 2 off on 8s, DuPont - plus dispatcher ranks, certs and console imagery on the Career tab. New: Year at a glance (Pro). Your entire year on one screen - every shift in your colors, overtime and vacation glowing through, trades in purple - with the numbers up top: shifts worked, OT days, vacation, trades. Tap any month to jump the calendar there, and share the new MY YEAR ON SHIFT poster carrying your name, department and your year's stats. Quick adds can now color the whole day. Turn on "Color the whole day" for a category like Overtime and the day fills like a shift instead of just a small bar - matched to your shift color if you want, on the widgets too. Asked for by a member; built the same week. Marking a day worked now tracks the hours too. Use Change duty for an extra shift and Frontline offers to log the hours in one tap. Remove the day later and it offers to take those hours back out - and it warns you before stacking one day past 24 hours. The "ENDS 8A" marker on the morning after an overnight is now your choice, set right where you enter the hours. Off by default - your next day reads as a clean day off unless you want the carryover shown. And the day page now totals what you logged - "Total hours tracked today" sits right under the day's summary. Have a request? New preset: 24/48 with a Kelly day. Work 24 on / 48 off with a recurring Kelly day off on a held weekday? The new preset lays out the full 21-day pattern from one setup - pick your Kelly weekday and go. Built for a member who emailed; added the same week. The Week view can now roll with you. Flip on "Rolling 7 days" in Settings and the week screen always starts on today - the seven days ahead of you, not the half of a Sunday week already behind you. "Color other shifts" now paints every view. Turn it on and your days off show which crew is working - it used to be month-only; now the Week, Day and Agenda views match. The Day timeline stopped hiding your all-day items. Payday and all-day events used to sit at the top of the timeline where you only found them by scrolling up; now they are in view the moment you open a day, and slide away when you scroll. Light mode fixes throughout: day numbers stay readable on black shift cells, the Career page header, and a partner-schedule toggle that was nearly invisible. New for Police and dispatch: rotating schedules. If your work days slide forward on a set interval - 4 on, 3 off, moving up 2 days every 28 - Frontline now lays out the whole rotation from one setup. Tap the new Rotating 4/10s preset under Police, or turn on "My schedule rotates over time" in the custom builder and set your own slide. Built for a 911 dispatcher who had been entering his shifts by hand for four years. Milestones got a page of their own. Every shift badge with the date you reached it, your 5-year service anniversaries, clearing probation, and every promotion - all in one list on the Career tab, each one shareable any time. Missed sharing shift #1,000 by a day? It is right there. Promotion cards now carry imagery matched to the rank - Engineers get the pump panel, Captains get the radio - and the Career page opens with a hero image for your service. Your partner's work days now show on the home-screen widgets, not just in the app. The calendar is much faster. Switching between month, week, day and agenda views could hang for seconds if you had linked Google or Apple calendars; it is instant now, and month swiping is smoother. New shift colors: gold, black and silver, for departments whose shifts run black, red and gold - asked for by a member, added the same day. Plus: iPhone forms no longer hide the notes field behind the keyboard.

Kelly schedule added to EMS. Ambulance crews asked for it, and it turned out Frontline already had it - it was just sitting under the Fire tab. On, off, on, off, on, then four days off. Tap EMS and it is right there. New: the 9/80. Nine-hour days Monday through Friday, one weekday off every other week, and an eight-hour day the week you do work it. Eighty hours a fortnight. Fire Marshals, inspectors, detectives, SROs and anyone else on a 9/80 can set it up in about thirty seconds. Friday is the default day off, but any weekday works, and Frontline asks which of the two weeks you are in so the very first month is right. Fixed: changing your work schedule in Settings could quietly put you back on Monday through Friday. If you worked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and went in only to move your start time, pressing Confirm reset your days. They stay put now.

See your partner's schedule on your own calendar. Their work days show right on your month, week, day and agenda views, so "are we both off?" is one look instead of two apps. Built for spouses. 40 Hour - Fire Marshals, training officers, inspectors, detectives and SROs who work straight days now get their own setup, and keep the Career tab, certifications, trades and the incident log that used to disappear. Repeating events: change or delete ONE day. Move this Thursday's practice without touching every other Thursday, or drop a single week you are away. Edit event is a lot faster. Every setting shows its own answer at a glance - "Weekly on Wed", "9:00 AM" - and opens only when you tap it. New user guide in Settings, in plain language: what everything does, in the words your shop actually uses. Plus: the month widget legend now follows your own wording, a faster year view in the multi-day selector, and a pile of smaller fixes.
