New in 2.1.0: a home-screen widget. Add Cadenza to your Home Screen to see today's goal, your streak and how many Koch characters you have, and tap it to start a Letters session right away. A few minutes every day is what makes Morse stick.

New in 2.0.1: already know Morse? Skip the climb. Tick "I already know Morse" when you start to practise with all 41 characters at once, or pick how many characters are active any time in Settings > Characters. New characters still unlock as your accuracy grows. Thanks to the operator who asked for it.

New in 2.0.0: Cadenza now runs natively on iPad, in any orientation and window size. Every page sits in a comfortable column with bigger text and answer keys, and in landscape the Letters trainer puts the signal on one side and the keys on the other. Also new: a setup guide for external keys in Settings > External key.

New in 1.9.1 for Pro: auto-check in Sending practice. With an external key or paddle you no longer reach for the screen after every character: Cadenza checks it by itself after a short pause following your last dit or dah. Pick the pause (0.5, 1 or 2 seconds) in Settings > External key > Auto-check. Thanks to the operator who asked for it.

New in 1.9.0: a message from the morse-trainer.app translator now opens straight in Cadenza, already filled in. Only here to translate? Tap Just translate on the first screen to skip the setup. When you want to read Morse by ear, the line under the translation takes you to the trainer. Postcards now link to morse-trainer.app.

New in 1.8.0 for Pro: plug in a real Morse key or paddle. Any USB or Bluetooth key adapter that works as a keyboard (VBand, Vail and similar) now keys Sending practice and Morse input. Straight keys work as they are, and for paddles Cadenza does the iambic keying at your speed, with a swap option. Set it up in Settings > External key.

Accuracy pass: the Translator and the Postcard now know É (..-..), KN at the end of an on-air exchange is sent as one run-together prosign, SOS typed without spaces decodes as SOS, and the error signal is labelled HH. Several Morse history facts were corrected.

New in 1.7.0: the Translator works both ways. Type text to get Morse, or type or paste dots and dashes to read them as text. Play either side as sound, light, torch or vibration, or share it. It sits first in Tools, one tap from Listen. Free, like the rest of the tools. Plus smaller fixes.

Small fixes and reliability improvements under the hood.

New in 1.6.0: Italian and Japanese. Cadenza is now fully available in seven languages across every trainer, tool, stat, and setting.

New in 1.5.0: profiles. Several people can learn on one device, each with their own progress, lists and settings, while Pro is shared. The QSO simulator now sends a full exchange (callsign, name, RST, QTH, rig) and grades every field, pile-up stations repeat their calls, and the Reference is fully translated, with prosigns written the way they are on the air. Thanks to everyone who wrote in. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

Version 1.4.1: a small fix for typing. Tapping Replay while the keyboard is open now works on the first tap and keeps the cursor in the answer field, and a new round opens the keyboard on its own. Thanks to the listener who wrote in. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

New in 1.4.0: Brazilian Portuguese. Cadenza is now fully available in Portuguese across every trainer, tool, stat, and setting. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

New in 1.3.0: your lists. Build your own practice lists: callsigns, contest exchanges, the words you keep missing, and copy them by ear like any other drill. Tell Cadenza your callsign, too: the QSO simulator will address its exchanges to you, so you practice copying the station that answers your call. Both part of Cadenza Pro. Cadenza also now waits until you step out of a drill before it asks you anything, so nothing interrupts a character you are copying, and you can rate the app from Settings whenever you feel like it. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

New in 1.2.0: the Postcard. Type a short message and Cadenza turns it into a card: the Morse drawn as a rhythm score, played back in sound, light and vibration, and shared as a picture with one link. Your friend hears the rhythm and decodes it in Cadenza. A QR stamp on the card means even a forwarded screenshot opens. Free, like Listen and the trainer. Plus smaller fixes and polish.

New in 1.1.0: Listen. Point your phone at a clean Morse signal, another phone, a practice oscillator or a rig, and Cadenza decodes it to text in real time with a live speed readout. It runs entirely on your device: no audio is recorded or sent anywhere. Free, like the rest of the trainer. Plus smaller fixes and polish.
