FamilyWatcher: Smart Care

Health & Fitness

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Stay close to the people you care for. See their heart rate, sleep, steps and falls from their phone and watch, get alerts, and keep up with their reminders. FamilyWatcher helps you look after an aging parent, even from far away. With their permission, their iPhone and Apple Watch share heart rate, sleep, steps and location with your family. You can be alerted to a fall, a reading past a limit you set or when they leave home. HOW IT WORKS One app, two roles. Install FamilyWatcher on your iPhone or iPad and on your parent's iPhone. 1. On their iPhone, choose "I'm a senior", agree to what will be shared, allow Apple Health and location access, then tap "Get your code". No email or password needed. 2. On yours, choose "I'm part of the support network", create your account and enter the 6-digit code. Your parent can read it to you or share it as a link. 3. Add their photo and details, then turn on notifications. Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and fall alerts need an Apple Watch. Without one, the family sees mainly steps and location. WHAT YOUR FAMILY CAN SEE • Heart rate, blood oxygen, respiratory (breathing) rate, steps, sleep stages and falls • Graphs by day, week, month and 6 months • Phone and watch battery, and when they last updated • Their latest location on a map (not live tracking) ALERTS • Set high or low limits for heart rate, blood oxygen and respiratory rate, and choose who is notified. • A fall alert is set up when you connect your parent. Add one in Manage Alerts for anyone you invite later. • Set a safe zone around their home. Your family is notified when your parent leaves it and when they're back. • Alerts go to your family, not to your parent or to emergency services. MEDICATIONS AND REMINDERS • Add medications with the dose, strength, type, half doses and a photo of the pill. • Add other reminders for one time, every day or chosen days of the week. • Your parent taps Taken or Not taken on the notification, and it shows on a shared calendar. One family member can be notified too. • Your parent can add their own reminders too. CARE AS A TEAM • Send a hug: a notification that says you're thinking of them. They can send one back. • Invite relatives with a link to see the same dashboard, map and reminders. • Add both parents, or another older relative. WORKS WITH APPLE HEALTH AND APPLE WATCH FamilyWatcher works with the Apple Health app. With your parent's permission, it reads their data from Apple Health without changing it and shares it with your family. You'll need: • iOS 15.6 or later. Your parent needs an iPhone. • An Apple Watch with watchOS 11.1 or later and FamilyWatcher's watch app, for heart rate, blood oxygen and respiratory rate. Not every model measures every reading; blood oxygen isn't offered in every region. • Fall Detection turned on in Apple Watch settings, for fall alerts. • Sleep tracking on, with the watch worn to bed, for sleep and respiratory rate. Sleep also needs iOS 16 or later. • Location set to Always on your parent's iPhone, with Share Location on, for the map and safe zone. PRIVACY AND CONTROL • Your parent agrees before anything is shared and can stop sharing location or delete their account at any time. • Their health readings and location are shown only to their family members in FamilyWatcher. • We don't sell your personal or health information or use it for third-party advertising. LAUNCH PERIOD During our 3-month early-access launch period, FamilyWatcher is free for everyone to use, until [January 15, 2027]. PLEASE READ FamilyWatcher is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Please consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and before making medical decisions. FamilyWatcher is not an emergency service, does not call emergency services and should not be relied on in an emergency. Not every fall is detected, and alerts depend on your parent's devices being worn, charged and connected, so they can be delayed or missed. Alerts follow Focus and Do Not Disturb settings. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US).
