New: Ride mode. Plan cycling loops of up to 100 km and track your speed. New: Pause and resume any run or ride. Fixed: voice cues could go quiet partway through a run.

Under-the-hood improvements and refinements.

Manage or cancel your subscription right from Settings, no hunting through the App Store. Restore Purchases is now in Settings too, for when you reinstall or switch devices. Reminder: tap the start pin to search any address and plan a loop in another town before you travel. Plus smaller fixes to route quality and voice cues.

• Run guidance now notices when you set off the other way round the loop and flips remaining distance and turn cues to match. • Turn cues are checked against the route line before they are spoken, so no more calls at random spots. • Routes always start from where you are now, and every route shown is within 10% of the distance you asked for. • Cleaner loops: dead-end detours are trimmed out. • Compact route panel: once your routes are ready the controls fold away so the map gets the room. Swipe it down or up. • The map points the way you're running, with an arrow marking which way to go, and music only dips while a cue is spoken.

• Smarter routes: suggestions now favor public streets and paths, steering away from roads flagged as private or restricted. • Reliability and quality improvements to route generation and run guidance.

• Plan a run anywhere: search for an address or place, or drop a pin on the map, to start a route somewhere other than your current location — perfect for planning before you travel. • More reliable voice guidance: turn cues are steadier and no longer call out turns that aren't there. • Accurate distances: generated routes now match the distance you ask for. • Clearer guidance when your GPS signal drops.

You can now rate the app from the moment it has actually helped you, instead of being asked far too late or not at all. Nothing else about how the app works has changed.
