Public land scored for grouse, woodcock, pheasant and bobwhite in 13 states, ranked near you. Works with no signal. Start with a 14-day free trial. Know which cover is worth your boots before you leave the truck. Apex reads the state and federal forest inventory for every stand of public land in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Pennsylvania, and for the national forests of New Hampshire, Maine and West Virginia: what is growing there, how old it is, and how thick the understory is. It scores that as grouse and woodcock habitat, groups the best of it into coverts, ranks them by how far you would walk, and puts them on a map that works with no signal. This is habitat intelligence, not a feed of pins. A score of 78 means the cover is strong right now: the right type, at the right age, with food and escape cover close by. It does not promise a bird. Hunt a 78 ten times and you will move more birds than on a 40. PHEASANT AND BOBWHITE Apex scores public land for pheasant in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Montana, and for bobwhite in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin, from the crops and grass around each parcel. Each parcel shows where to start, the season for the state you are in, and how much of the corn and soybeans around it has been cut this week. APEX PRO • PICKS: scored coverts on the map and ranked in Discover, each with a guide that tells you why it is good, how to hunt it in today's wind, and where to start. • TIMBER: every stand in the state to browse and filter by cover type and age, not just the picks. Download it for the states you hunt. • CREW: share coverts and pins with your hunting party, see each other live when you choose to, and message whenever you have a bar of signal. Nobody outside your crew sees any of it. • Scout mode and conditions that re-rank the day. FREE, ALWAYS • The map: roads, trails and two-tracks, national forest, state forest, and game and wildlife areas. • Turn-by-turn directions to any pin over roads, trails and two-tracks. Or take a straight line, or hand the drive off to Apple Maps. • Your pins and recorded tracks, with elevation and distance. • The journal: every hunt, flush and note, with photos. • The plant field guide. • Import your waypoints from onX, Gaia and handheld GPS units (GPX, KML, KMZ, GeoJSON). BUILT FOR THE WOODS • Offline first. The coverts, stands and scores live on your phone and are ranked on your phone. Download the map for your area over Wi-Fi and the imagery comes with you. New coverts and public land arrive over Wi-Fi without an app update. • Private by design. No account needed. Your spots stay on your phone unless you turn on backup or share them with your crew. No ads, no trackers, and we never sell your data. • No password, ever. Sign in with Apple, or with a one-time code we email you. IMPORTANT Apex is not a legal record of land ownership or public access. Boundaries come from agency data that is generalized and can be wrong at the edges, and ground shown as public may be private, leased or closed. What is posted on the ground controls. You are responsible for knowing where you are and for following all hunting regulations. SUBSCRIPTION Apex Pro is $4.99 per month with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. Pheasant and bobwhite. Public land in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Montana is now scored for pheasant, and for bobwhite where they range (Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin), with each state's season. That includes state wildlife and game areas, Iowa's county conservation land and the Iowa Hunting Atlas. Grouse and woodcock in four more states: Pennsylvania's State Game Lands, state forest and the Allegheny, and the national forests of New Hampshire, Maine and West Virginia. Harvest on the map. When you hunt pheasant or bobwhite, see how much of the corn and soybeans around each parcel is cut, updated every week from USDA crop progress. Turn it on from Layers. Map data now updates by itself. New coverts, scoring and public land arrive over Wi-Fi and take effect the next time you open Apex, without waiting for an app update. Map packs for every new state: roads, trails and turn-by-turn routing for no signal, and timber for Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine and West Virginia. Michigan timber is now a download too, so the app itself is smaller. Get them all in Downloads. Crew Season: your crew's combined season and leaderboards. The journal counts pheasant and bobwhite. Fixed a crash when tapping a numbered spot in Hunt this parcel.
