BookNest: Family Reading Log
Family reading tracker & log
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
BookNest is a calm, private reading companion for the whole family. Keep a shared home for everyone's reading — track minutes, finish books, build gentle streaks, and produce tidy school reading logs, all stored privately on your device.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Add a reader for each child (or yourself), each with their own daily goal and streak
• Log reading with a simple timer or by entering minutes and pages
• Organize books across Reading, Paused, Finished, and Wishlist shelves
• Rate finished books, add notes and favorite quotes, and mark favorites
• See progress with a weekly chart, a monthly goal ring, a reading calendar, and a family recap
• Earn quiet reading badges as gentle encouragement
• Set optional daily reading reminders, with quick presets for after school, bedtime, or weekends
• Create and share or print PDF reading reports for school, now with notes and a tidy summary
• Explore Family Reading Resources — editorial picks for families
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Your reading data stays on your device — there is no account and no sign-in
• BookNest has no backend for reading data: reader names, books, notes, quotes, and reading logs are never uploaded
• Reader profiles are simply local labels you choose
BUILT FOR FAMILIES
BookNest works for one child or several, for bedtime reading or summer reading challenges, and for keeping the reading log a teacher asked for — without spreadsheets.
Optional daily reminders use local notifications only. The Family Reading Resources screen links to helpful external sites (like Classeem) and shows a small ad to help keep BookNest free.
