EICR & BS 7671 certificates

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Certably is the certification app for UK electricians. EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates and Minor Works — created on site, signed on site, sent before you get back in the van. EVERY CERTIFICATE IN ONE APP • Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) • Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) • Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate — one circuit or three • EV Charging Point Installation Certificate (Section 722) • Earthing & Bonding Certificate • Electrical Isolation Certificate • Electrical Danger Notification • Full schedule of circuit details and test results • Full schedule of inspections PHOTOGRAPH THE BOARD, GET THE SCHEDULE Take a picture of the consumer unit and Certably reads the device markings and proposes the circuit schedule — description, type, curve, rating, RCD. It fills in construction only, never a reading, and every scanned circuit has to be confirmed against the physical board before the certificate will issue. It runs on the device; the photograph goes nowhere. THE DIARY YOU ALREADY KEEP Certably can read today's appointments and offer to start a certificate from one, filling in the site and the client. Put a re-inspection date on a certificate and it can go in your calendar with it. When those dates come round, Certably lists what is due and writes the reminder to your client for you. IT CHECKS YOUR WORK BEFORE YOUR CLIENT DOES Type a Zs and Certably tells you immediately whether it passes, against the BS 7671 maximum for that device and the 80% rule-of-thumb figure. On a ring final it shows the R1+R2 you should be seeing before you measure it, so a spurred socket or a broken ring is obvious straight away. Before you issue anything, Certably runs through the certificate and lists what is missing or wrong — an unrecorded reading, insulation below the 1 MΩ minimum, polarity not confirmed, an RCD outside its operating time. Better you find it than an assessor. THE CLASSIFICATION CODES DO WHAT THEY SHOULD Record a C1, C2 or FI and the report is unsatisfactory. There is no override, because there should not be one. STOP TYPING THE SAME THINGS Duplicate last year's certificate for a revisit and the circuits, board layout, cable sizes and wording all carry over. Every reading and signature starts blank — a copied test result is not a test result. Save your standard wording once, and build a library of the observations you write most. PHOTOGRAPH THE DEFECT Attach a photo to any observation and it prints on the report in a numbered photographs appendix — what you saw, next to what you wrote. THE WHOLE SITE IN ONE PDF Export every certificate at an address, oldest first, behind a single cover sheet — for the landlord's file, or for handing a site to another firm. WORKS WHERE THE SIGNAL DOESN'T Basements, plant rooms, riser cupboards — everything works with no signal and there is no account to create. Certificates sync through your own iCloud, so the job you started on the phone is on the iPad when you sit down to finish it. SIGN AND SEND Sign on the screen, generate a professional PDF and send it straight from site. Creating and filling in certificates is free. Issuing and sending them needs a subscription — Electrical at £9.99/month or £99/year, or Complete at £19.99/month or £149/year with every trade included as it ships. Both start with 14 days free. Certably is independent and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the IET, BSI, NICEIC, NAPIT or Gas Safe Register. An FI no longer fails an EICR BS 7671 Amendment 4 replaced A2/A3 on 15 October. Under A4:2026 a C3 or FI is advisory, so only a C1 or C2 makes a report unsatisfactory, and the observations print in two tables to show it. New certificates say they were worked to A4:2026. Reports you have already issued keep the verdict they were issued with. A draft you started before this update will ask which amendment it was worked to before you can issue it. Say which tester took the readings The model BS 7671 forms carry a box for the instrument behind the results, and Certably did not. Settings → Your kit is where you enter a tester once; every EICR, EIC and Minor Works from then on carries it on the schedule of test results. A calibration that has run out is flagged, never blocked — that is a scheme rule, not a BS 7671 one, and it is your call. Nothing on your certificate that you did not put there A previous update pre-filled a tester on new installs as an example. It should never have reached a real certificate, and it is gone. If you see a Megger MFT1741 you do not own in Settings → Your kit, delete it — nothing else in the app put it there. We can finally see where the app gets in the way Certably now counts which forms get started, which get finished, and which rule stopped you — and nothing else. No client name, no address, no reading, no free text, ever. It cannot be switched on for your certificates because it was never built to see them.
