UNDERSTAND THE CURB
Tap a street to check the parking information available for that location: time restrictions, paid parking and permit requirements. See the rule behind the answer and flag information that looks wrong. Coverage varies; when the data is incomplete, the app may be unable to give a verdict.
KEEP YOUR CAR CLOSE
Save where you parked, find it again on the map and get directions back. Keep favourite places handy and set a parking timer. Optional automatic parking detection can help identify the end of a drive; you stay in control and can confirm or correct the location.
PLAN YOUR NEXT MOVE
Follow street-cleaning restrictions and available snow-removal information for saved places. Enable notifications for parking reminders. Alerts depend on available data, your device settings and network access.
EXPLORE NEARBY OPTIONS
Look for parking alternatives, paid spaces and lots. EV charging and accessible-parking information is shown where available. Availability estimates are guidance, not a guarantee that a space is free.
KEEP YOUR PLATE HANDY
Keep your licence plate handy: photograph it or choose a photo, check the number read on-device, and save it for one-tap copying in My Spots. Your plate photo and number stay on your device and are excluded from backups.
CONTRIBUTE LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Read a sign with your camera or report a rule that needs a closer look. Sign photos are processed on your device; recognized text can be sent for review. Collection schedules for saved places help you remember the bins too.

CôtéRue is an independent app, not affiliated with the Ville de Montréal or the Agence de mobilité durable. It uses public open data and community contributions. Always check the signs on site, including temporary restrictions; posted signage takes precedence.

This update makes the map quicker to load and more responsive when you move around. Nearby parking loads alongside street rules, recently viewed areas open faster, and map updates stay in step with your latest position. We also improved animation loading and accessibility labels for map markers.
