The Orbit App
Discover your neighbourhood
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Your next friend could be five minutes away.
Orbit helps you discover and connect with people nearby who share your interests. Whether you are looking for someone to join you for coffee, football, a creative project, a morning run or a conversation about technology, Orbit helps you find your community closer to home.
DISCOVER PEOPLE NEARBY
Choose your preferred distance and explore people in your area. Orbit highlights shared interests and shows only an approximate distance—never someone’s exact location on a public map.
CONNECT BY MUTUAL CONSENT
Send a connection request when you find someone interesting. Messaging becomes available only after the other person accepts, giving both people control over who can contact them.
CHAT AND MAKE REAL PLANS
Once connected, use private messaging to introduce yourself, share recommendations and make plans to meet.
FIND PEOPLE WITH SHARED INTERESTS
Create a profile and select the activities and topics you enjoy. From coffee, books and photography to football, coding, entrepreneurship and volunteering, shared interests make starting a conversation easier.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Orbit is designed to help you meet people without broadcasting exactly where you are.
• Exact locations are never displayed publicly
• Distances are rounded and approximate
• You can hide yourself from discovery
• Location sharing is optional and under your control
• Existing connections remain when you turn off discovery
BUILT-IN SAFETY CONTROLS
Block someone to remove the connection and prevent further discovery or messaging between you. Report a person or individual message when something does not feel right. You can also permanently delete your account directly from the app.
MADE FOR REAL COMMUNITIES
Orbit is not about endless feeds or collecting followers. It is designed to help adults turn nearby shared interests into genuine conversations, friendships and communities.
Real people, really close by.

Orbit is intended for adults aged 18 and above.
