Open, edit and save Word documents more reliably. This update improves opening files from other apps, saving changes, reopening documents and returning to the document list.

Support requests now reach the right service for your region. Faster, more reliable document rendering and editing. Fixes for mixed left-to-right and right-to-left text.

Two fixes: • Paste on the ribbon now reads the phone's system clipboard — previously it did nothing. • Tapping text that sits on top of a picture or shape places the caret in the text instead of selecting the object, so pictures can no longer be deleted by accident.

Share as PDF: turn the open document into a PDF and send it from the share sheet — the same engine as sumoffice.com/tools/word-to-pdf, no upload. Opens Word 97–2003 (.doc) and OpenDocument (.odt) files: before opening, the app tells you exactly what carries over. New: SumOffice Pro — an optional subscription for Share as PDF and .doc/.odt files, with a 7-day free trial. Opening, editing and saving stay free. Large documents with photos open, scroll and edit without running out of memory. The first edit on a freshly opened document no longer stops the editor. Replies from support now reach you inside the app. Paragraph tools open above the toolbar; messages appear in your language. Fixes and smaller improvements.

• In-app assistant: ask a question or report a problem right from the document — the paper-clip in the corner. • Tap into text and the keyboard comes up; the ribbon stays above it. • If the app hits an error, it now tells you and files an automatic error report so we can fix it (see the privacy policy for exactly what is sent — never your document). • Page fits the phone width on open. • Fixes and polish.

Open documents from the Files app and other apps: SumDoc now appears in “Open in…” for Word documents, and a document opened this way shows up in Recents with its real name. Report a problem: choose a service level (Premium, Business, Standard) right in the form; the form speaks the language of the app. Fixes and improvements from the desktop build.

Version numbering now matches the desktop build: year.quarter.patch. The on-screen keyboard no longer covers the document or the editing ribbon, and it closes when you leave editing. List bullets from symbol fonts are drawn correctly, and the app shows its own name in the window.
