New in baba news: • Social links open in their own apps: Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Telegram and Threads, with no login wall. • Videos play inline, full screen or picture in picture, and show the original post when a clip fails. • Settings, Ads Measurement: choose whether baba news may tell its ad partners which ads brought you. The app still shows no ads, and reading works the same either way.

New in baba news: • Widgets: the top stories on your Home Screen, in English or Hebrew. • Breaking on the Lock Screen: follow a breaking story live on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with how many sides of the press have it. Turn it on in Settings, Notifications. • CarPlay: listen to The Desk, the hourly bulletin, in the car. • Screen on your TV: with AirPlay or a cable, your TV shows the news Screen and your phone becomes the remote. • Screen in both languages: Hebrew and English on the same card. • Screen shows how many sides of the press carried each story, and plays the polls, the mood and the siren chance between stories. • Hebrew reads right to left again on iPhones set to Hebrew, from the opening screen on. • Duki finishes an answer even if you leave the app in the middle of it.

New in baba news: • Every story now opens with baba's summary, written from all the newsrooms that covered it, then the pictures, what happened and who reported what. • Who covered it, in one view everywhere: left, centre, right, Haredi and Arab newsrooms, counted. • Made for tablets and the iPhone Duo: Discover and Saved spread into columns across the wider screen, and on the open iPhone Duo they meet at the fold. • Rebuilt for iOS 27, with faster native calls under the hood. • Smoother swipes to save or dismiss a story. • Signing out always completes, even when the phone refuses to clear the old session. • Fixes for stories that sometimes did not open.

New in baba News: • Live: watch Israel's news channels as they broadcast. Channel 14 and i24NEWS play right in the app, and Kan 11, N12 and Channel 13 are a tap away, each marked with its side of the press. • baba News on iPad: the wire and the story side by side, and every screen laid out for the larger display. • Election 2026: the polling average, exit polls and the count from the Central Elections Committee, in one card. • The press in five groups: left-wing, centrist, right-wing, Haredi and Arab, everywhere you compare coverage. • Newsroom Photos and Newsroom Clips on every story. Official IDF and MDA photos and YouTube clips are free; News Plus shows the rest. • A picture for more stories, with credits for portraits. • Redesigned Settings, and Your News Diet now counts one read per story. • A cleaner reader: the link to the newsroom's own report is at the top of the article.

New in baba News: • Trending Now: the stories people are reading and sharing right now, with the reason each one is rising. • Story Pulse: views, shares and questions for every story. • The Desk for News Plus: a short spoken bulletin every hour, and it keeps playing when you leave the app. • What Changed: News Plus shows what is new in a story since you last read it. • Ask About This Article is always one tap away, with better suggested questions. • Faster Discover, consistent story art, and many small fixes.

Stability and compatibility improvements.

Hebrew search now finds stories in the selected edition. The developing story updates when you switch languages. Alert choices have clear names and descriptions. This update improves startup compatibility with newer iOS versions.

Follow a story and baba tells you when it moves: another newsroom picks it up, or it develops. Your reading diet now shows which side of the press you actually opened, week by week. The plan page says exactly what News Plus adds, line by line, next to what stays free. Not Everywhere stories are free for everyone. A link to a Hebrew story now opens in the app instead of the browser. Sharing a story shows its own headline and picture, with a link to copy. Switching between Latest, Top and Updated is smoother, and the filter opens on the desks.

The Hebrew edition is properly Hebrew. The breaking strip and the Discover shelves were still arriving in English for readers without a subscription, and they now follow the language you picked, like the rest of the app. A headline we have not re-reported yet stays English, but it is now written left to right where it belongs instead of being pushed to the right margin. Desks, editorial communities and the wire's own section headings are translated too. Newsroom names are still their own.

Tapping through to a newsroom now opens their article inside baba, with their page exactly as they published it and our own bar over it: whose page you are on, where that newsroom leans, and every other newsroom that filed the same story, one tap away. Switching outlet keeps you in the story instead of sending you out to Safari, and Safari is still one tap away whenever you want it. When a publisher's page will not load, the frame says so and offers the next newsroom that ran it.

Not Everywhere stories, the ones one side of the press did not run, now stay in the wire with a readable headline and a line saying which side ran them. Opening one shows who ran it and who stayed quiet before you are asked for anything. How the headlines differ and who reported first keep their shape in the story, so you can see what is there. The daily brief email is now a switch in Notifications, and search says what it covers under the field.

Alerts now arrive: breaking news, your three daily briefs, and the newsrooms, topics and people you follow, in your language. A cleaner story page that says what you are following, and a Follow for the topic as well as the newsroom. Pick the desks you read during setup and the wire opens on them; one tap shows everything again. A new Updated sort surfaces stories whose reporting changed after they first ran. Filters are easier to read, and searching for a newsroom no longer hides behind the keyboard. Email settings for the daily brief, the weekly edition and breaking news, the same on the web. Crash and slow-request reporting so a wire that stalls on your phone is a bug we can see and fix.

Fixes Share and Open at the source from a story's long-press menu, which did nothing before. Saved stories no longer reload every time you open the tab, and Clear all now asks first. Follow a newsroom from the top of a story, and see how many people read it. A rebuilt account screen with your reading spread, a clearer News Plus page, and a first run that lets you pick Paper or Ink.

Sign in with Apple, Google, or email to keep your News account across devices. This release adds account settings and News Plus subscription controls. Every feature remains free during launch.
