Shared rides: offer the free seats in your car or find a ride - to a trailhead, the airport or across the island - and agree the details in the chat. Drone zones on the 3D map. Itinerary drives now follow the real roads.

Every webcam shows its own name and place, the newest ones included.

Five tabs in one row, with Now in the middle. - Now also shows the webcams and today's events. - Places sorts the island into category cards. - Paid routes: Day 1 is free to read before you buy. - Tides are part of the ocean forecast now. - Tips, news and saved articles open on the website.

New: Found. Real places on Madeira, rebuilt as small 3D worlds you can step inside. The new tab shows them as lights on a night map of the island, and in every world a golden lizard is hiding. Save a world or share it, like anything else in the app. - The app now speaks Polish and Dutch, and the language is the second setting.

Share a trail, a beach, a tour or anything else you can save: the new Share button sits beside Save. Friends with the app open it on the same card; everyone else gets the page on the website, with a link to the app.

Madeira now speaks French, from the map to the trail descriptions. It follows your phone's language, or choose French for this app alone in Settings › Madeira › Language. Permission requests now give their reason in French, German and Russian as well, and download sizes are written the way your language writes numbers.

Your own account. Sign in with Apple, Google or a code sent by email - it is free - and every tab opens: weather, trails, routes, beaches, events and the rest. Trails, routes, beaches, cable cars, places for children, tours and events can now be saved, and the bookmark in the map's corner keeps them together on every phone you use. The live 3D map on the Now tab stays open without signing in. Settings now open from the gear on the map.

Truer clouds on the 3D map: cloud is now drawn only where the latest satellite scan actually saw it, so clear stretches of coast stay clear. The privacy notice is more precise. If you allow usage statistics, they now include an approximate region (country and city) worked out from your network address, which is not kept. Nothing changes if you declined or agreed earlier.

Real clouds on the 3D map. The sky over the island now comes from the latest satellite scan and is refreshed every ten minutes while the map is open, so you can see where the cloud actually sits - over the peaks, along the north coast, or out at sea. The island itself has a new look too, lit and shaded to read like a photograph.

Activities. The island's tours and boat trips now have a tab of their own: a card each with what it is rated, how long it runs and what it costs from, and a pin apiece on the 3D map drawn as what the day actually is - a jeep, a whale, a walking boot. Tap through and the booking opens with the operator in your own browser.
