ShelfSum helps you track grocery spending and shop with a budget in mind. Scan a shelf price label with your iPhone camera, review the suggested price, and add the item to your cart. Your running total and remaining budget update as you shop.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Scan shelf price labels with your iPhone camera or import a label photo. Review the suggested price and product name, and correct them when needed.
• Scan a product barcode to recall details and prices you previously saved in the same currency. Always confirm today's price before adding the item, as barcode scanning does not look up live supermarket prices.
• Add products manually, including quantities and weighted goods.
• Track your subtotal, estimated tax, and estimated checkout total as you shop.
• Set a shopping budget and see how much remains while adding, editing, or removing items.
• Customize your currency and tax settings, including whether displayed prices already include tax and which individual items have added tax.
• Save completed shopping trips with their original items, quantities, prices, tax settings, and totals.
• Review previous shopping trips and copy a shopping summary when needed.
• Choose light mode, dark mode, or follow your iPhone's system appearance.
PRIVACY AND LOCAL STORAGE
No account is required to use ShelfSum.
Your cart and saved shopping trips are stored locally on your device. ShelfSum does not currently provide app-operated cloud sync or backup for your shopping trips.
Shelf-label image recognition is designed to run on-device without automatically sending your shelf-label photos to a publisher-operated cloud AI service.
IMPORTANT
ShelfSum provides shopping estimates, not official receipts or guaranteed checkout totals.
Your actual checkout total may differ because of discounts, promotions, deposits, taxes, product weights, retailer rounding, or other store pricing rules.
Barcode scanning does not provide live store prices. Previously saved prices may no longer be current, so always review the price before adding an item.
Always check detected prices, quantities, units, and tax settings before relying on an estimate.
Currency settings do not convert amounts between currencies.
ShelfSum currently has an English interface and is designed primarily for common numeric prices and Latin-script shelf labels.
