Pillmark: Pill Counter
Offline tablet & capsule count
Free · In‑App Purchases
Counts a tray from one photo and rings what it doubts, so you check two spots instead of recounting 90 pills. You set the quantity first. Free trial, then a subscription.
Photograph a tray and Pillmark counts the pills on your iPhone or iPad. It puts a mark on every pill it counted and a ring on every place it was not sure about, so you check those spots instead of recounting the whole tray.
New subscribers start with a free trial, so you can count real trays before you pay. After the trial Pillmark needs a subscription, and the tools below are what it unlocks. Cancel anytime in Settings.
WHAT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION UNLOCKS
- Rings on the places worth a second look: a pill the app was unsure about (tap the ring to count it), two marks almost on top of each other, a pill cut by the edge of the photo
- A mark on every counted pill, and one tap to fix a miss, with undo
- The quantity to fill, set before the photo: the result says exact, over or short, on a rule marked in fives
- Big fills counted in groups, added up for you
- A log of saved counts with the photo, label and time; CSV of the log, and a PDF of any count with lines for who counted and who checked
- Counting on the device, without an account or an internet connection; Pillmark never uploads your photos
HOW WE TESTED IT
On 182 held-out photos of pharmacy counting trays, the count was within one pill of the true number on 99.5% of them. On 30 photos taken by other people in pharmacies and at home (887 pills), chosen and counted by hand before the app saw them, it was within one pill on 29 and exact on 24; the one photo further off had the screws of a counting machine in view. So the app marks every pill it counts and rings every place it doubts: you can see what was counted and fix a wrong mark with one tap.
FOR THE BEST COUNT
Lay the pills in one layer on a plain surface that contrasts with them, with every pill inside the frame. Keep screws, coins and other small round things out of view. Count big fills in groups.
Pillmark counts pills. It does not identify medication and it is not medical advice. Check the marks before you dispense.
