LEARN TO PLAY
- 5 courses and 38 step-by-step lessons for 4-string bass, plus extra lessons for 5-string, 6-string, and drop D.
- Foundations: meet the strings, one finger per fret, alternate plucking, the octave shape.
- Grooves: roots on the one, root-fifth, octave disco, walking lines.
- Slap and technique: ghost notes, hammer-ons, slides, the thumb slap, the pop, slap grooves.
- Scales: major, natural minor, minor and major pentatonic, and the blues scale.
- Every lesson shows Tab, Notes, or Both, and plays back at a steady tempo so you can hear it first.
LEARN TO READ MUSIC
- 15 lessons that start at zero: how tab works, the staff, the bass clef, line and space notes, ledger lines, note values, rests, time signatures, sharps and flats, dotted notes, and your first sight-read.
- Quizzes along the way: name the note, find it on the neck, count the beats.
- Daily read: 20 quick sight-reading questions a day. The notes you miss come back more often.
- Daily neck: 20 fretboard questions a day to learn every note on the neck.
PRACTICE TOOLS
- Tuner: a chromatic mic tuner that reads down to low B, plus reference tones.
- Metronome: 30 to 260 bpm, tap tempo, 2 to 7 beats per bar, subdivisions, and a click or a drum beat.
- Backing drums: rock, funk, and 3/4 grooves under every lesson loop.
- Neck: pick any root and one of 8 scales, see it across frets 0 to 12, tap a note to hear it, or play the whole scale.
- Jam: import songs you own from Files, slow them to 50 to 100 percent speed without changing the pitch, loop a section from A to B, and transpose up or down 6 semitones.
