Tempest meter. Pair a Tempest (WeatherFlow) and it feeds Solve the air and the wind, same as the Kestrel and the Calypso. It remembers the meter and reconnects when you open Freebore. Calibrate its compass from the meter's page. Take wind. Set Follow wind to On tap. Hold the meter into the wind, tap Take wind on Solve, and five seconds of readings average into one wind, with the strongest reading as the gust. It holds that number until you take another. On a Tempest, a short press of the meter's own button does the same thing. With your direction of fire set, the direction comes in with the speed. Pick which meter Solve reads. Settings > Meters lets you pick which one Solve uses for air and which one for wind. If your pick isn't connected, it reads the next one that is. The Read button on Solve's air line names the meter it reads (Read Kestrel, Read Tempest). Every live chip names the meter feeding it, on Solve, Reticle, the Card and the stage card. Pair from Solve. With nothing paired, two chips read PAIR AIR and PAIR WIND. Tap one and pick your meter. Follow turns itself on when you pair: Live for wind, every 5 seconds for air. Change it or turn it off on the meter's page. Truing, rebuilt. It tells you where to true first. Speed, drag and drop scale are all choices, with the recommended one marked. You see the correction as a number before you apply it, and when two corrections could explain the miss it shows both and what each does farther out. A speed from fewer than five chronograph shots gets called a thin average. A drag change over 3 percent gets flagged. The scope tracking test is gone. Snap it or hand Freebore AI the match packet as a PDF and it sorts the pages onto your stages. On the line you read the sheet with your dope pinned across the top. It is saved on the phone, so it opens with no signal, and it rides along in a stage share code. Direction of fire comes from the phone's compass, every time, on every screen. You point the phone downrange once; nothing on a meter decides it. Calypso: wind direction follows the meter live with nothing to set up. The arrow sits on the target and the wind clock on Solve moves as the meter turns. Gust is the highest 3-second average in the last 60 seconds, shown beside the wind. Follow has a Live choice that takes every reading. Kestrel: pair it from Settings as well as from Solve, next to the Calypso. A Kestrel left in magnetic mode is corrected to true north by the phone on its own; no setting to find on the meter. Meter link watchdog. A meter that says connected but has gone quiet is nudged, re-subscribed, then reconnected on its own. A lost one retries every 30 seconds. You stop checking the icon.
