Softfall: Sleep Sound Soother
White noise. No subscription.
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Founder price: Softfall Pro is $9.99 until October 22, then $14.99. One purchase, shared with your family, no subscription. Every sound is made live and never loops.
Softfall is a sleep sound machine that never repeats itself, with a night sky that moves to match.
Every sound is made live on your iPhone: the rain falls drop by drop, waves arrive when they like, the fire crackles in its own rhythm. Nothing loops, so there's no seam to notice at 3 a.m. Tap any sound to hear it instantly.
A SKY FOR EVERY SOUND
Each sound and each mix paints its own gently animated night: rain streaks and splash rings, waves with foam, campfire embers, fireflies, storm clouds with soft lightning, a distant lit train. Mix two sounds and the sky blends them.
33 SCENES, 16 SOUNDS
Start from a ready-made scene across Noise, Water, Nature, Night, Home, Little ones and Focus, or build your own. Blend sounds and shape each one: drizzle to downpour, embers to blaze, calm sea to rough.
FALLS ASLEEP WITH YOU
Set a timer and Softfall fades out slowly, or settles to a quiet floor that keeps masking noise until morning. With Apple Watch, it notices when you've been still for a while and lowers the sound, then brings it back up if you stir.
In the morning, Dawn wakes you gently: if Softfall is still playing, your sound slowly rises; if it stopped hours ago, a soft birdsong alarm wakes you at your chosen time.
AN OLD iPAD BECOMES A SOUND MACHINE
Bedside mode turns a spare iPhone or iPad into a dim bedside clock with your sounds. For little ones: an OK-to-wake color schedule, a volume cap, and optional cry detection that gently lifts the sound. Listening happens on the device; nothing is recorded.
MADE FOR THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
Opens straight into your last mix with one big Play button. Lock Screen and Control Center controls, widgets, a Live Activity countdown, Siri and Shortcuts.
PAY ONCE
The free app is a complete sound machine: every noise color (white, pink, brown, gray and green), box fan, rain, wind, ocean and fire, two layers at a time, the timer and the widgets. Softfall Pro is a single purchase, shared with your family: unlimited layers, six extra sounds (thunder, birdsong, crickets, a stream, a heartbeat and a distant train), every scene, saved mixes, Apple Watch wind-down, bedside and nursery modes, the Dawn wake-up and four extra app icons. Try any Pro sound or scene for 30 seconds first. No subscription, ever. Nothing free will move behind the paywall. Or try all of Pro free for 7 days: nothing to pay, nothing to cancel, it simply ends.
