Identify Every Fish by Photo

Free

\ Thank you 500K downloads / [AI Fish judgment app by photo] 【Verify A Fish By Photo】 Mikke is a fish identifier with image recognition AI. What kind of fish is this? As soon as you wonder, take a picture of it and upload it to the photo AI. It will immediately give you a list of candidate fish species. It is useful not only when you go fishing or play in and around the water but also for a summer vacation school project. The identification is based on species and groups. If the species can't be identified, try it again with groups. The app covers fish in the sea around Japan, excluding squid and octopus. 【About fish name Q&A】 The fish name Q&A has closed. You can still browse past Q&A from Info in the app. 【The identification accuracy of the AI is more than 70%】 Identifying fish from photographs is quite difficult even for experts. Given that, Fish Search has a high accuracy of 70%(*1) out of 80 suggested species. Furthermore, its accuracy goes up to 90%(*2) when it comes to groups. Please note that the accuracy will change depending on the species or how the photo is taken. Roughly, you would get three right answers out of four by the species identification. *1, *2 The numbers are based on an experiment covering 200 kinds of fish that are popular in the sea around Japan. 【A tip to improve the identification accuracy of the AI】 A picture taken under the following conditions improves the identification accuracy. ●Take a picture of only one fish ●Place the head on the left and take the picture from its side, except for the flatfish group. ●Take a picture of the whole fish, from the tail to the head. ●Choose a simple background ●Take a clear picture A picture under the following conditions is not good. ●There are 2 or more fish. ●There are things other than fish, such as a person's hand. ●A long fish such as an eel. ●Only the head or only the tail is in the picture. ●Only the back of the fish is visible because it was taken from above. ●It is difficult to distinguish the background from the fish. 【For all who love fish】 This app has been developed based on the "WEB Fish Encyclopedia", which has data of about 50,000+ photos of fish. In order to improve the accuracy of the app, we made the best use of inventiveness in the back end system. Because of how the system works, it does not have 100% accuracy. We hope you will understand that and enjoy this app as a simple and easy tool to identify fish.
