Description

The webPOISONCONTROL® mobile app provides expert help for a possible poisoning. It helps users determine if an exposure is dangerous and requires medical attention.

Did the baby eat a berry, a flower or a cigarette? Did you take the dog’s medicine? Did your toddler eat pills from grandma’s purse? Did you swallow something that might be poisonous? Did you splash a product in your eye or on your skin? Are you coughing from irritating fumes? Were you bitten by a spider? Don’t guess what you should do. Get accurate answers prepared by poison control experts.

Use the webPOISONCONTROL app to find out if you need to call Poison Control or go to an ER. This free, confidential app will guide you. Just enter the age, substance, amount taken (if swallowed), weight, and time since the exposure to get an immediate recommendation. A barcode reader allows you to scan the product instead of typing or searching for the product name. Next tell us whether you have symptoms, and if so, the app will check to see if they are common, expected symptoms, or more serious. Often, it’s safe to stay home, but the app will tell you what symptoms to expect and when to call Poison Control or go to an ER.

Version 3.1 allows users to get answers even if symptoms have already developed and expands the scope of the app beyond swallowed poisons to eye, skin, inhalation and injection exposures, and bites and stings. The app was developed by poison control centers and has been safely used by more than 80,000 people seeking help for a poison emergency.

What’s New

Version 3.1.0

Version 3.1 of the webPOISONCONTROL® mobile application and desktop tool delivers expanded features, providing user-specific recommendations even if symptoms are present. This update allows you to also get help for skin, eye, inhalation and injection exposures, and bites and stings – not just for swallowed poisons. The time it takes for the user to get a recommendation is reduced. And more substances are available, including flowers, berries, critters that bite or sting, and many more drugs and household products.

Amazing resource!

I left a review on the online site saying I needed an app for this and turns out... There is one!
I use the webpoison control site all the time. My son is 10 months old and has gotten into some questionable things. I love having the Poison Control resource right there to check whether I should freak out or not.
Pretty sure using the Poison Control resource has legit saved me thousands of dollars in emergency room/urgent care bills.
