So much promise but so many issues

I really needed a good IOB app and Jade seemed like a good one to try. It has promise but there are sooo many issues; constant email and in-app spamming, features that don’t work (notably several under the user profile, which the app constantly nags you to update), ongoing email spam, integrations like with LoseIt that aren’t reliable, etc. I can’t even log in to the web site properly and get this - the developer charges you to reset your own password! If the app were free or very low cost, I might pay for it in hopes that it would improve, but the developer is IMO gouging diabetics for the yearly plan price, especially given the many issues with the website and app.BTW - put in a support request 2 days ago (after I paid to reset my password which still didn’t allow logins) and haven’t heard back. But I DID get multiple Lisa-bot emails asking me to pay up for a subscription. Cool…

Most powerful and accurate tool

I have used predictbgl for years. It helped me get my a1c from 14.1 to 5.7. Empower yourself to take control of your diabetes. The coach portion of this program is the gold. When you enter a blood glucose level and carbs eaten, the program compares its prediction to the actual results and gives you immediate feedback as to potential changes in your ratios. This is taking control and giving you and your doctor valuable feedback to adjust your treatment if needed. The program accurately predicts your blood sugar levels for hours into the future. The dose calculator takes into account carb ratios and correction ratios. Impotant things like insulin on board and insulin stacking are prominently displayed. The program does EVERYTHING it says it will do plus so much more. Type 1 ot type 2. On pills or insulin..shots or pump..this program is for all. Very valuable calculations for the impact of sickness, menstruation, alcohol etc is easily set up for your time periods can automatically adjust your insulin doses. Customer service at this company surpasses expectations. They care about their customers. It is well worth the paid features offered in the program.

LOVE but wish it was free

I LOVE this so much!! It has helped me (less than 1 year into T1D diagnosis) learn about how certain carbs affect my sugars and has been a lifesaver with calculating IOB (MDI only right now). IOB calculation has truly saved my life several times when I misdosed for food and could see where I was headed on the graph in relation to how many units I had left to work through my system. My biggest complaint is that I’m not able to use this app more than a month because I cannot afford to pay $60 for 6 months subscription. I have to spend that money on insulin now. I tell everyone about this app but that is the one improvement that would get you more customers.

I downloaded the trial two nights ago, and in 36 hours, I can tell my BF management has improved. I love the coach tips, and the BG predictive tool. Now I can see what my choices now can result in later, and make better decisions. I can also drill into why the results are different from the predictions. I usually will ride out a trial, and even if I subscribe, I’ll wait till the last possible minute. However, with this, I’m seeing so much value in subscribing now because of the very valuable tools in the paid version. Usually I think paying for a free app is a ruse, but in this case, I feel it’s so valuable I can’t wait to do it. What a great tool! I don’t know where this has been during my journey with LADA, but man, am I excited about this.

Now I can see what my choices now can result in later, and make better decisions. I can also drill into why the results are different from the predictions. I usually will ride out a trial, and even if I subscribe, I’ll wait till the last possible minute. However, with this, I’m seeing so much value in subscribing now because of the very valuable tools in the paid version. Usually I think paying for a free app is a ruse, but in this case, I feel it’s so valuable I can’t wait to do it. What a great tool! I don’t know where this has been during my journey with LADA, but man, am I excited about this.
