Five stars

I heard about this app from my hair stylist and decided to give it a try for my own business. I like that I can save the phone numbers in the app but not on my phone, so it doesn’t mix my customers in my personal address book. It also has this window pop up at the end of a call asking if I want to take notes which I find very handy. The Appointments feature is fantastic once it’s set up. I am paying a lot more for a similar tool right now. Definitely will not renew that! There are still a lot of features I haven’t had a chance to set up yet, but I’m liking it so far!

Reminders broken

I’ve been a Sideline customer for 3+ years and I have to tell you that the update to Index is less than ideal. What was once an easy to use and relatively fluid user experience, the new system for booking appointments is cumbersome and inefficient, specifically in regards to the reminder system.
The ability for Sideline to communicate with my iCloud calendar and propagate customer appointments and phone numbers from the calendar and into Sideline made reminders straightforward and easy. Furthermore, the control and customization of the reminders made this feature vital for customer communication.
The new system which forces you to book appointments *only* through Index makes scheduling frustrating and laborious. There is no indication through Index’s calendar which times/slots are available until you attempt to book and then it only tells you if a spot is unavailable after attempting to confirm a booking. To solidify the frustration there is no indication within Index, unlike in Sideline, whether or not a text reminder has been sent to clients.
Please improve upon or reinstate the previous reminder functionality.

Hey Bryan, although we're currently working on other features for Index, we'll be sure to relay your feedback regarding Index's Appointments features to our teams. In the meantime, if there's ever anything else we can do to make your Index experience a 5 out of 5, let us know at Your feedback helps us help you.

It’s ok WHEN it works - inconsistent at best

I was also a former user of Sideline. I was terribly disappointed when the update, not only changed to Index, but charged more for services I received at a reasonable rate through Sideline. I was given a credit for the inconvenience, but I doubt I will keep the service.

I never know if my customers get my texts because a lot of times they don’t. It is completely unprofessional and embarrassing as a business owner. Also the auto-reply is hit or miss. This is not a cell service issue. I can have 5G and still have customers I follow up with who never received my text or who contact me again because they think I never responded to their inquiries. Completely unreliable.

The scheduling aspect is rudimentary and only works if you have one person on the schedule because it only links to one calendar. I hope they improve by leaps and bounds because I will jump ship as soon as something better comes along.

Hi Delnie, we're so sorry to hear your experience with Index hasn't been the best. We understand how frustrating that can be for you and your business. We apologize for the inconvenience and would like to assure you that our intentions certainly aren't to make your transition from Sideline to Index a troublesome one. That being said, we recognize you may have moved on from Index, but if you ever decide to give us another chance, let us know at and we can work together to ensure you a smoother experience with Index moving forward.
