The good, the bad and the ugly

I am a private process server and I used this app to document the fact that I was at a particular location at a particular date and time.

The good:

The app loads quickly and does a great job of overlaying GPS coordinates on the photograph that you take.

The bad:

For some strange reason it won't let you upload the photograph unless you're in almost the exact spot where you took it. Uploads have failed simply because I moved 20 or 30 feet from the spot where the photo was taken. In my profession this could be very hazardous to your health.

Ideally, you want to take your photo, serve your documents and then move to another place to upload the details, such as manner of service, description of the recipient, etc. You don't want to antagonize a potentially irate recipient by standing there in his/her face typing in or dictating the details of what just transpired. I can't think of any logical reason why the app would limit the area from which you can upload data, when all that needs to be documented is that you were at the serve location at the date and time you said you were.

The ugly:

Theoretically you should be able to work around the problem by taking a photo with GPS coordinates overlaid, and then mailing it to yourself or your office rather than worry about standing in the exact spot where you took it in order to upload it. Unfortunately, even that won't work. Photos are not saved to your photo history until you've made an attempt to upload them within the small proximity to the area where the photo was taken.

Bottom line:

This has the potential to be a very good app for people in the process service profession if these annoying and potentially dangerous issues are corrected. Unless and until that happens, however, I'm going to have to go back to the old way of doing things.

To the developers:

I'll continue checking back from time to time to see whether these issues have been corrected, so if you correct these serious problems please post something that indicates that they have been addressed. If so I'll be glad to give it another try.
