I’ll be honest here, I almost didn’t give this app a try bc I simply just can’t afford the $10/month subscription fee, but I’m so so happy I decided to take advantage of the free trial bc this is the news app of my DREAMS. I downloaded it this morning thinking I’d give it a quick browse while I was drinking my coffee and then cancel my free trial. Well, my “quick browse” ended up being an intense 6 hour long immersion. 6 HOURS! I’m blown away by the quality and sheer volume of articles available, and every article I read was so edifying. I cannot recommend this enough: the UI is intuitive and aesthetically satisfying, the categories are simple, accurate, and well organized, the content is credible, unbiased, and factual, and it is somehow the perfect app for every type of reader, from the news junkie to the casual browser. I feel like I’ve learned more in the last 6 hours than I have watching the news every day for the last 6 years. The only - and I mean ONLY- negative for me is the subscription price. I think the price is more than fair, but it’s just not something I can afford after being impacted by covid. To the developers: phenomenal job! Y’all have created something beautiful and I can’t wait until I’m able to support what you’re doing w/a subscription.

This was the news app I’ve been wanting! It’s straight forward and easy to use without all the clickbait and random ads littering the page. You can customize what sources you want to receive news from and make your own tags to follow stories that are more topic specific. I’m still in my free trial, but the content and the app are good enough to make me seriously consider buying a subscription. I was a bit deterred by the subscription price per month being $10, in comparison with apps like Reuters and even Apple News, which are free for the most part. But for some new sources like The Washington Post and The Economist you need to have a subscription to their specific periodical to gain access to certain content. I can see how the $10 inkl price could be worth it in that regard. One flat fee per month for access to all those periodicals except WSJ and Barron’s (which i don’t read anyway).

I want news without ads, and am willing to pay for it. I assumed that’s what I paid Apple News for, but it’s riddled with ads. But what’s the deal with not showing the date/time of the articles? The intention appears to be to mask how long it takes for articles to appear. In my opinion, the lack of dates compounds the latency problem rather than masking it. I also don’t see how I can get Washington post or New York Times articles, even with my own subscription. Inkl could have additional subscriptions for each premium newspaper, which would be worthwhile to have all news in one place, and without ads.I love the idea, and the price is more than reasonable, but I still have to use another news service to get timely news. And if I’ve already read the news that pops up on Inkl a day or two later, I’m not likely to want read it again. For this reason, I’m not sure if I’ll continue.

I downloaded this app and my first impressions were great, finally a news site that is actually unbiased and easy to use... Theres even a good news section, all of which is incredinly informative. Everything about the app is great, but then I got to the payment options. I've used this app for a good 15 minutes and am blown away at the quality, I'd love to keep using it... But I simply can not afford the subscription right now. It's not possible for me. It appears there is no free version available, and for me, it doesn't matter how good the app is. If I can not have access to the app, I won't even try to get comfortable with it. It was a short stay, but it seems it would only last me a couple days anyways. I wish there was a free version, with ads, for me to continue using this app because I really want to be able to. Without that option, I have no choice but to uninstall. Very unfortunate this gem is being hung up by a subscription fee....
