Awesome upgrade!

We put our in-ground pool in about eight years ago. We purchased the complete package including the Pentair Easy Touch 4 control center from Leisure Pool. Leisure used all Pentair products. We have been pleased with everything and have had almost zero problems. Recently I began looking to see if there was some way to connect my Easy Touch control panel via wifi. Much to my surprise, I found that Pentair offers an upgrade kit complete with everything I needed to upgrade to the Intellicenter control panel. I ordered the kit and had Frontline Pool and Spa Services install the kit. It only took about two hours to install the kit including wifi connection and setup. The Intellicenter 2 app works flawlessly. It’s user interface is simple to use and to make changes to settings. Its very intuitive. This has been a fantastic upgrade and I definitely recommend it to anyone with an older Pentair Easy Touch control panel.

What an improvement over the last one year...

I got my IntelliCenter in early 2022 and the system worked well but the app had a lot of issues. I left a review at that time but I just learnt to live with that app. I did not use the app during the winter. Now that we got some warmer weather, I realized that my app has been updated and it is working much better and it also looks better. Nice home screen, easy to navigate, and overall stable app performance...nothing super fancy, just does what I need my pool app to do. It is nice to see that Pentair has been paying attention to the previous reviews and is working on improving the app for users like us.

Still have to go to panel.

This *could* be a great app. I’m honestly not sure how in the world there are currently 4.8 stars; when I read on the forums, there are many more that have issues like me.

Here are my gripes. 1) it only works “locally” semi-consistently, maybe 80% of the time. If I’m logging in remotely, it will work until the screen sleeps; if I wake up the phone and app, it loses connection, and I have to close the app and reopen. 2) I live in a Cold climate, so freeze protection is always on for part of the year. I still have to walk (in the snow) over to the panel and manually turn on the spa so the intellicenter override can activate—no way to do it from the phone. (Schedules don’t appear to activate override either) So, in practice, the phone app is almost useless in the winter.

First-world problems, I know. But when you spend the kind of $$ on the hardware, you want a dialed experience beyond this hybrid app.
