kaizen helps you understand what your training is building toward, because training plans break when life gets in the way
Connect Strava or Garmin and kaizen turns your recent training and race history into clear guidance for the week ahead. See what your current training suggests is possible, train toward your goal with more confidence, and build consistency without losing sight of real life.
Train for a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon — or train at a rate of improvement that helps you keep getting better over time.
Whether you’re building toward race day or focusing on steady long-term progress, kaizen helps you train with more context, more clarity and less noise.
CHOOSE HOW YOU WANT TO TRAIN
The first training systems in kaizen give you more structure and guidance without the brittleness of a rigid plan.
Start with:
- Blank Canvas for full flexibility
- Even Spread for a calm, repeatable weekly rhythm
- 1 Long, 1 Hard for a week anchored by one longer run and one harder effort
You choose the structure that fits you. kaizen adapts the work underneath based on your current fitness, goal and timeline.
WHAT YOU GET
- Race predictions for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon
- Guidance shaped by your recent training and race history
- Flexible weekly training that adapts to the running you do
- More structure without being locked into a plan that breaks when life gets in the way
- Clearer confidence about the shape you are in before race day
- A way to train not just for one race, but for steady long-term improvement
BUILT AROUND CONSISTENCY
kaizen is built around a simple idea: improvement comes from enough good work, repeated consistently, for long enough.
The point is not to blindly obey numbers or feel like you’ve failed the week because life got in the way. The point is to understand the bigger picture, stay consistent, and make better decisions over time.
Some weeks will be smooth. Some will be messy. Missing a run or having a rough patch does not erase the work. kaizen helps you stay oriented, return well, and keep building.
Because the best training is not the most ambitious plan on paper. It is the training you can actually absorb alongside work, family, stress, sleep, travel and everything else that affects running.
DESIGNED FOR REAL LIFE
Some runners want full freedom. Some want a steadier rhythm. Some want more weekly shape. kaizen is designed to support different ways of training while keeping the same adaptive logic underneath.
The goal is not perfect compliance. The goal is durable progress.
CONNECT VIA STRAVA OR GARMIN
kaizen adapts based on the running you do, so it requires a data connection to update based on your actual training. It’s currently compatible with Strava and Garmin. You’ll need to connect your Strava or Garmin account for kaizen to analyse your activities and calculate your predictions and training guidance.
kaizen does not process or store location or heart rate data.

I have had positive interactions when reaching out to the customer support team, and within the app itself I appreciate that the training plan adjusts based on volume and intensity, providing some flexibility unlike a typical rigid training program.
Such a great app

I started using this with skepticism, it took a sec but I am seeing real progress with a rigorous step by step improvement plan/ training companion. Give it a shot, it may surprise you. It definitely surprised me!
Developer Response
glad to hear this!
Unfortunate bugs

Love the concept but it’s hard to trust the app when it is presenting different mileage recommendations every other day and it can’t seem to add up my planned mileage correctly. It went from recommending 55 miles this week to now saying I have 19 miles remaining after one 8 mile run.It also reads that I have 7.5 unplanned miles despite having 52 miles planned.
Developer Response
hey there, thanks for flagging. could you please contact support from within the app so we can see what's going on there. the mileage target is a training load target under the hood, so distance will jump around at the beginning of the week as it is sensitive to intensity changes. that does sound like it's jumping around more than it should, so keen to look into your account to see what's happening there! we did have some issues in the planner when in miles, which are resolved in our upcoming release (early next week). look forward to sorting all of that out for you asap :)
Almost there

I’m a huge fan of training this way, and I used JSET before switching to this app. Unfortunately I can’t get past some of the bugginess with this new app from Josh. All my training days are automatically logged as being the day prior for some reason. I can’t understand where to control my subscription. And I have struggled to get a plan that’s really accurate to where I am and what my goals are. Bottom line is I need to be able to just trust the numbers it’s feeding me and I don’t based on how buggy things still are.
kaizen is always improving. Your suggested runs will now adapt according to the exact training that you did after every single run.
We have also fixed bugs and improved the responsiveness of the app.
