Great concept, execution needs work.
This app is wonderful. The very idea of having such giants in the world of photography like Jay Maisel etc telling me about his work and how I can improve is phenomenal. The app supporting AirPlay is also fabulous. Where it fails majorly is in the execution. Watching the videos on my tv via Apple TV is a constant exercise is multi-tasking. You have to be aware if your iPhone or iPad is still on or your video will stop after the current episode has ended. If it's still on, then the continuous play will keep going. If you try to turn your apple device back on, you will have to kill the app then restart, find your episode again, then restart. That isn't a seamless execution. I have high speed internet that I pay extra for to have even faster speeds, however, the video sometimes stalls, loses the HD quality, or the picture in it's entirety. Again, poor execution. I have looked through the reviews and have seen that I'm not the only one. Why there isn't an upgrade is beyond me. The saving grace of this app is what is mentioned in the beginning. That alone is worth while to keep the app. Fix the execution and this app goes into the essential category for all photographers.
Doesn’t Work
So disappointed ☹️ Can’t even login into my account.
Hard to rate this app
I "purchased" the app and went to sync it to my phone. Received a message saying that the app was not compatible with my iPhone software version, that I needed a newer version. I forced a check for a new version and it says that I am up to date.
The requirements do say that it requires iOS 4.3 or later, but does anybody know what version you have on your phone, or iPad? iTunes says that I am up to date and that there is no newer version, so I believe that. But I am not running 4.3, so it turns out. If it turns out that my phone will not accept and run 4.3, then I guess I will never be able to install this app.
I believe that Kelby Media is a good and honorable company, and that there must be some feature of iOS 4.3 that is required to make this app function. Otherwise, they are losing a lot of potential installs due to this app release before the iOS 4.3 is available.
