Jeremy's McCay Services ,

I enjoy using Lyft and I explain why in my review.

I enjoy using Lyft because my experience using Uber currently and from the past I have had a few recent and past issues like a few of my credit cards would be declined for no apparent reason when I know I have large credit lines or even my debit card. I also noticed that the development of the Lyft app is more simplistic and user friendly to use compared to Uber because I can set my destination point in the beginning without having any problem for the driver when comparing my experience using Uber. One thing to consider is the driver I recently used was very nice and even my past Uber drivers were also very nice and positive just like my Lyft drivers are but now my preferred preference to use Lyft only until Uber updates the way their app works to resolve adding a destination point in the beginning of my ride instead of only providing me a pick up point and then you have to add the destination point after address I am going to.

I will try to use Uber in the future after they update their app in the future and one last point to consider the driver of my last current Lyft ride in November 2023 said the app for lift was a lot easier to use and the prices are basically the same. I will try Uber checking back on how the Uber app and see if my destination issue is resolved and if so I will give them another chance so I can support both companies and the drivers earning income.

Got reported for violating COVID health policies

Even though I’ve worn a mask every ride. There seemed to be no way to dispute this and nobodies gotten back to me about removing the violation? When I asked about it all they said is thanks for letting us know, and just sent me the guidelines again. I don’t know why I was reported, or by who, and whether or not this affects my rider rating. I don’t like being wrongly accused of being an inconsiderate person who can’t follow simple rules... I’ve had several drivers that didn’t put a mask on until I was in the car and they saw me wearing one, yet I don’t report them. Also, drivers in NY seem to never wait when you need an extra minute to get to your car. I’ll be walking out the door of the hotel when it says they arrived and I see them driving away already even though it says they will depart in 5 minutes, then I have to wait another 5-10 minutes for the next guy to show up. Sometimes I’m outside waiting and it says they’re here but they aren’t and then it switches me to a different driver that I have to wait for. All of these are simple issues but I’ve started to get annoyed with this app to the point of typing this long review because I have nothing else to do.

Unable to Report Being Dropped at Wrong Location and More

Unable to share my exact issue with customer support, so I am putting it here. My home address is not mapping to the proper location, so drivers are going to the inaccessible gate on the wrong side. When you are blind and cannot see where they are going, especially if the driver is deaf or doesn't speak your language, it makes it impossible for them to know where you need to go and unsafe for me as I am being dropped at the wrong location. The app is not giving me a way to report this specific issue. As a blind user, accessibility is a big deal to me. This app in terms of accessible components is actually quite good. My issue is this. They encourage users to upload a photo so the driver knows who you are, I can't see them being totally blind, so I don't have such an advantage. They say verify the license plate of the car, again great if you could see it. They really need to come up with a more creative solution that helps us blind users. As a side note, users should be given a language option for their driver, Spanish speakers may not be able to work well with English speakers, English speakers may not do well with a Spanish speaker. This is especially true if you are blind and pointing at things does you no good. Try communicating with a Spanish speaker or someone who cannot hear when you are blind and they can't figure out where you are going, go ahead, try it.
