A very bad experience...I ordered my food with the app, which is supposed to make it easy, but instead it was a pain! We made the order on the app and then chose curbside pick up. They don’t charge your card until you check in. So instead of saying, hey don’t charge the card because where the only McDonald’s in the world right now with NO ICE CREAM! They ran the card, made the food, and assumed having no ice cream was okay because our order was large. No it’s not and they should have came to our car before charging the card to inform us that our order would not be able to be completed as ordered. Instead they brought all the food out and asked if we wanted a shake or something instead. We asked for a refund instead and were told that since we did not pay at the store they could not refund us and we would have to call online to request a refund. We called online to request a refund and were told they they could not refund us our money and that we would have to call our bank and tell them the charge was not authorized. This was a horrible experience that will not be forgotten. This whole process was supposed to be easy and it was not. To top it all off they think a coupon for a $.50 ice cream was going to suffice when we called. How can you offer a shake but not have ice cream? Aren’t shakes made out of ice cream?

if you make any kind of location mistake, god help you, you’re screwed. and good luck getting any type of refund. i called the store to cancel (lady was rude but thats just what you expect at mcdonalds, im sure she’s just miserable making $9/hr as a middle-aged woman on an unlivable salary) , went though the app, AND TRIED TO LOOK UP AN FAQ FOR CANCELING THE ORDER AND THEY DONT HAVE ONE! It’s exploitative and grimy that there is no other option. i will be contacting my bank, and truly wish i had the kind of time it would take to contact someone higher up in MiStake-lds. NOT TO MENTION I HAVE A BRAND NEW IPHONE 14 AND THE APP ACTS BUGGY AND SLOW EVERY TIME. I only ordered a couple times on the app before i deleted it and my account out of frustration. another thing to mention, i used to work here for a yr and a half when i was very young. if you think they treat their customers bad, you should see the way they treat employees. i was working 45+ hours a week as a 16 year old in high school. they regularly kept me there until midnight or later, and god forbid you couldn’t stay or had to leave at your SCHEDULED time (dont even think about calling out). You’d be risking termination and reprimand/ verbal abuse from a GM that makes $10 more than you /hr and does nothing but sit.

I’ve now attempted to use this 4 times. The order goes through fine, so maybe it’s actually just the employees in my town, managers included. The first time I used it, they said they didn’t have my order, and then charged my card 2 hours later for the mobile order, after I had already placed and paid for a new order at the store. I tried a different location, the first time the manager told me I had failed to pay for my order so I needed to drive back around to the first window and pay. There is NO OPTION but to make payment in app. The third time, not quite as bad, I had to drive up to the window and tell them my order so they could find it. Third time? I was told repeatedly they didn’t have any mobile orders, I had to go inside to straighten it out. Understand, THERE IS NO WAY TO CHECK IN UNTIL YOU ARE AT THE STORE. It uses GPS to track your location and it won’t check you in until you are almost in the parking lot. I know, I’ve tried. You literally cannot order from the wrong location, so THEY HAVE TO HAVE YOUR ORDER IF YOU CHECK IN. Even now as I type this, they don’t show my order as complete. I picked up my order 22 mins ago, according to my receipt, yet the blue bar at the top of my screen tells me they are still tracking my location! Seriously, if you are going to put the time and effort into making an app, take the time and effort to train the employees how to operate the system.

I’ve had issue’s especially with the dashers stealing the food and not canceling the order until a hour later and I can’t even get my money back for 3-5 days and can’t order until the order is canceled. The dasher would call and say they are lost but I live the down the road literally 2mins. I’m at work so having the delivery should be great but it’s not. They send the food across the street when the address is big on each house or they don’t even attempt to bring the food. One week alone door dash/ McDonald’s took $89 dollars and I had to wait 5days. I was hung up on by customer service and the dasher. I took screenshots of everything. Last thing is when the cancel a order and I go place a new one hours later it says choose a different payment method. I try 4 and it doesn’t put my order through. I called customer service they said to redownload the app which doesn’t work. I’m writing this today because it’s stealing when I don’t receive the food I order or the refund right back. I lose both while the dasher eats on my dime and McDonalds collects my money. Two dashers back to back even customer service tried to contact the driver they didn’t answer. What’s the point of the app if it’s stealing money and food from me. This app in the beginning as great. You can check to se show often it was used compared to now because I’m afraid I won’t get my food and money taken from me!!
