How It Works
1. Sign Up - Register with your electric utility info. Meltek tracks your energy usage and rewards reductions. Currently, we serve residents who use Con Edison, PSEG Long Island, Orange & Rockland or Rockland Electric Company as their electric provider.
2. Get Alerts - Receive alerts about energy-saving events in advance via app notifications, emails, or texts. This is your chance to earn by using less energy.
3. Reduce Usage - Before and during events, pre-cool your home, switch off lights, unplug devices, or delay using large appliances. The more you save, the more you make.
4. Get Rewards - Get paid by Meltek quickly* after each event. Transfer savings directly to your bank through Stripe. Or redeem them - the choice is up to you! Earn immediate bonuses by referring friends, family, or neighbors to join Meltek!

This Meltek app is great and a helpful addition to the notifications I received last summer to tell me about high energy use events. The app makes it easy to quickly learn how much energy I've saved and the amount of money I've earned. You can also redeem the money at many online stores using the app - stores where I already shop or want to shop. It's extremely easy to redeem (and fun!). There's also a section with articles on how to set up your account (very convenient), where the money comes from, and why lowering electric usage during high-energy times helps the environment. I certainly feel that participating is a win-win! It's all very simple to use and streamlines the whole process.

Broken app with inconsistent rewards. Nothing works as described. I have received rewards previously through another ConEd program and it was so easy to use and very fair. This one is completely random. For example - two separate days where I wasn’t home at all. For one, I got $5 back. For the other, $0. My energy usage was the same (little to none). They also still have my translation from 2024 as pending. Good luck trying to get any answers either - half the buttons don’t work.

Very easy to use service! They alert me what day and time to save energy. I turn off most of my electric appliances at home during the event. After a few days, I actually got paid and redeemed it for an Amazon gift card! Can take a while to get an energy-saving event as it only happens during a hot summer day but it’s worth the wait and this app is legit. I also get money for referring my friends to join Meltek which is a sweet bonus while waiting for an alert!
