Metanote is designed for enthusiasts of note-taking and writing, with special thanks to Org mode and Emacs.
Metanote is a local-first, privacy-first text processing tool, with powerful TODO management capabilities. TODO items usually come up while taking notes, so in Metanote, you can scatter your TODO items across various documents, and Metanote will automatically give you an overview of all the things that you have to do. In Metanote, everything is text, everything is editable.

Metanote is a pure text editor, where all files are stored locally in plain text format and organized in the most basic file and folder structure. You have absolute freedom in how you use your files, independent of any platform or software, including Metanote itself. This means you will never be locked into any platform or tool due to your data.

Metanote fully supports org mode 9.3.6 syntax, including features like Capture and Agenda View, allowing for a perfect and even enhanced org mode experience on smartphones.

Major update: Sync support is now available.
Metanote supports various sync methods to seamlessly connect your documents between your computer and iPhone. You can configure sync in the settings, including local directories, Git, iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, WebDAV (Apache WebDAV Server, ownCloud, Yandex.disk, etc.). Local directories, Git, and iCloud are implemented by adding external folders, while other methods have built-in sync. Sync is fully automatic, and you hardly need to trigger it actively. In most cases, when you need it, your latest files are already there. You can use Metanote as a data center, syncing with different directories and different cloud services, or syncing with multiple cloud services on the same directory. Feel free to explore more ways to use it.

emacs and iOS
Emulating emacs is a difficult task. Especially when trying to make it feel like a “modern app”.
While still new and light on other “power user” features and a couple bugs here and there, I feel this app feels like the best combination of emacs org-mode and iOS. Other apps are too much like emacs and less iOS. Others are the opposite. This feels like a good balance. Purchased the lifetime sub as an investment.
