Mindscope 2 for mac and iOS and watchOS is now out on the App Store - get that instead of this! See https://mindscopeapp.com for more information.
Mindscope is a new and powerfully simple way to store your thoughts without getting lost in the details.
• Quickly create text entries with a double-tap and drag them around, aligning them to each other. Perfect for brainstorming, capturing, and sorting thoughts or taking notes.
• Tapping an entry enters its own page where you can create more entries (and as many sub-boards as you like).
• Drag entries into other entries to quickly sort your thoughts into categories and projects.
• Keep track of lists, todos, notes, and anything else you feel like keeping track of, for example a list of ways to be funny when writing an app description. Or something.
• Copy and paste entries including their sub-entries
• Export all entries and sub-entries of a board via e-mail as a bullet list.
• Import any saved .mindscope file.
• Set a default font size for any board (long-press on a font size and select "Set As Default"
All of the above, as a universal app, with iCloud sync...completely for free! Yeah, I know, I can't believe it either. You can "pay" me with an App Store review, how does that sound?
However, if you are up for spending money, with the "Unlock Everything" in-app purchase, you can also save your own .mindscope files, search through all your entries instantly, create cross-links between boards, create arrows and lines between entries, set up a grid background for a page, set your own colors per page, and export boards to an OPML file (suitable for opening in most major mind-mapping programs). Any upcoming features in future updates will be included for the unlocked version at no extra cost.

Quotes from happy customers:
"It’s hitting a sweet spot for me. I have pretty much every single Mind-Mapping or Outlining app for iOS, and this is among the best.”
“This is EXACTLY what I've been hoping for. I so need to send flowers to your mother for having you.”
"Mindscope is a terrific app, elegant, easy to use, and incredibly useful.”
"Scapple for Mac comes closest to Mindscope in its combination of function, ease of use and minimalism but Mindscope is better."
"A very cool app. Think of it as Workflowy unbound from the outline."
I downloaded Mindscope recently and I’m hooked. I keep finding more and more uses for it and have a ton of stuff on it already. It’s very easy to keep records, make lists, arrange ideas, etc. I decided to purchase all the features and I’m glad I did. Making charts, graphs, and calendars for various uses is a piece of cake with the grid backgrounds. Mind mapping, brainstorming, and keeping track of anything is what Mindscope does. It can really help you get organized in your thinking and in your life. The ability to have endless subfolders is very cool and allows me to not get lost in the details and keep my mind on the big picture. I really appreciate all the work the developer has put into this app and how useful has become in my life. I started using it for work every day and it is proving to be quite helpful. It’s also fun to use. Give it try! You’ll be glad you did.To the developer:1) Thank you! Super job!2) Please keep updating this app3) Suggestions:- It would be great if I could change the color of each entry. Having different colors for each entry would add a lot to the already great visual aid Mindscope is (rich text formatting would be nice too)- Adding pictures would be a great addition and make Mindscope even more useful- Increasing the size of the page / workspace would also be wonderful (infinite zoom?)Again, thank you!I’m really looking forward to more updatesGod bless
Fluid, clear, and effective

I've had Mediascope for a few days now and I find it to be an excellent text based mindmap app. It has a clear design that makes it easy to start doing useful work. I'm sure its users will come up with many uses. I use it to create a mindmap of to-dos that I want to keep track of but am not yet ready to put them in my calendar with a date and a time. It's easy to create and move my items around the mindmap as I do my planning just by touching them and moving them to where I want. I like that I can export via OPML, a data standard recognized by many outliners and other mindmap apps. Mediascope is welcome addition to my life guidance system. In future updates I'd like to suggest two possibilities- the ability to assign individual colors to any word or letter in the mindmap. Second, to be able to export any individual mindmap element into iCal. I recommend Mediascope to anyone wanting to organize information in a visual manner. Excellent app.UPDATEI've now been using Mindscope for about ten months. And still find it to be a very useful part of my planning process. It is unbelievably fluid to revise, extend and, combine them. About a week ago I migrated all my mindmaps off of my old iPad and on to my new iPad Pro. I emailed each separate mindmap to myself, downloaded and imported all 22 mindmaps into the new installation. It was cumbersome but it worked. Perhaps the developer will provide a more elegant migration method in a future upgrade. At this point my biggest concern is that the developer hasn't updated the app in a year. I hope this isn't the first step on the road to obsolescence. However the big picture is that Mindscope is an excellent mindmapping program that I use almost every day.UPDATE 8 Oct 2019I’m running Ver 1.5 and I can’t get into my mindmaps. I reply no to the question about using iCloud for backups. I get the confirmation reply. Then the app hangs up on a “Welcome to MindScope 1.5 splash screen. Crickets. Please advise asap. Thank you.
Only Mapping/Outlining Program I Use!

This is super-functional and easy to use tool for laying down and organizing your ideas spatially. I’ve tried many mind-mapping type programs on multiple platforms (iOS, Mac, Windows), but with the possible exception of Scapple always returned to pencil and notepad when I wanted to brainstorm or organize my thoughts. But now I reach for my iPad and Mindscope instead. It’s not fancy or full of graphical enhancements, but is extremely easy to use and the ability to easily drill down and create new ‘layers’ or subtopics is great (and sets it apart from Scapple.) When I need to continue work on my notebook computer, the OPML and text export work really well. The developer is also responsive to questions and feature requests. This app reminds me of WorkFlowy (my choice of outliner)- no frills but super functional.
For the love of text editors and wikis

App store ReviewFinally iMandalArt done right mashed with DaedalusWas the first thing I thought of but that is not to detract from the uniqueness of MindscopeMind mappers, thought organizers, index card arrangers are hard to get right with speed and noveltyIt's like mind mapping with a text editorAs a fan of wikis, Mindscope feels right at homeImpressive is the well thought user experience as if the developer uses the app personallyBreadcrumbs, pinch to level and search are all well thought out aids to thought node retrievalThe user interface is perfect and I hope any feature updates will not degrade performance like attachments of images sound etc. In fact MindScope is perfect as is usage wise but I would like to see the ability to import from the system clipboard or plain text listsPasting from the system clipboard is possible into Mindscope as well as dragging in a text selectionAs well as exporting from the share sheet a whole board but The text bullet list export is not plain text but instead HTMLPure plain text would be preferred without the markupThis review was composed in Mindscope and exported as such and HTML markup removed with a Workflow script
Mainly a bug fix release for you guys! Thanks to everyone for their massive patience and kind words - so honored that so many of you find this concept useful and helpful!
* FIXED: now once again able to save / load boards
* FIXED: potential crash when picking colors
* FIXED: some iCloud sync issues
* FIXED: some issues when typing with connected Bluetooth keyboards
