My Chihiros 4+

Let me start by saying most if not all of the Chihiros brand products I've used are incredible. LOVE the lights - from par intensity, to look/finish and light diodes - however, this app is constantly having connectivity issues. Wish the day and time features were more adjustable, and the addition of a select and input value feature would be so nice instead of the click and drag method (Fluval does the same and it's all so annoying and inconsistent). Perhaps allowing users to choose more plot points and intensities for those times wouks be ideal, being able to create custom ramp settings and "siesta periods." Fluval already has this built into their app.

My hopes are the developers can take note and realize implementing a reliable and improved app will surely lock in some great profits and fans of their work/company. So far it's like driving a brand new Mercedes off the lot only to find there's dents and cosmetic issues - it's a beautiful vehicle but not perfect as intended and bothersome.

Connection consistently drops off when you’re using it, like other reviewers have mentioned, customized curves are very difficult, because it’s drag based instead of being able to point, and type to create smooth curves. Overnight light settings seem to glitch out in the morning I frequently walk in and don’t see my lights on for the morning cycle. I love the light itself quality surprising that the app is so poorly designed and marginally functional. It would be great to be able to connect via Bluetooth on a computer and log into a device webpage somehow.

The Bluetooth connectivity is ultra short range and super annoying. The app does not connect to the light consistently and will cause you to force quit the app and restart it to get the Bluetooth to connect. There’s no real instructions on how to set your light up. for whatever reason sometimes the schedule doesn’t come on at the designated time until you go back into the app“ wake it up.“

The developers really need to work on updating both the firmware on the light to increase Bluetooth range and connectivity, and overhaul this app. The most frustrating part is that you can’t even turn on the light with a switch physically and you’re forced to use this crappy app. Such a shame given that the light itself is pretty good. i’ve written to the company to share my feedback and I’m waiting on a response.
