• Sync changes from multiple smart phones using the same account
• Quickly open or close blinds with Smart Open and Smart Close buttons
• Gradual tilt option moves blinds silently
• Set up multiple weekly schedules per room
• Sun tracking adjusts blind schedules with seasonal sun position change (requires firmware 1.5 or higher)
• Energy savings feature closes your blinds if it gets hot. (requires firmware 2.0 or higher)
• Quiet motion: you won't hear the blinds move when they close/open on schedule (requires firmware 2.0 or higher)
• Control blinds away from home with an optional Smart Bridge
• Conveniently control various blind position and adjustment presets with optional Smart Switch

MySmartBlinds is a premium home-automation kit. The app is free to install, but it requires the purchase of one or more MySmartBlinds retrofit kits to control your blinds. Kits can be purchased from or from the Store menu item in the app.

Overall Good Experience

There are some issues, but overall, it’s a good product. The latest firmware update (2.2.1) is the worst yet. Since the update, my blinds consistently perform poorly. Some don’t open at all. Sometimes when they do open, they don’t open fully. I have to control them from the app to manually open them - which they respond to just fine, so why didn’t they open on their own based on the schedule?

I’ve owned my blinds for over 2 years now and sun tracking has NEVER worked. Please fix the issues introduced with 2.1. I’ve even re-programmed my blinds and the same issues persist. This latest update is defective based on my experience. It has the potential to be a 5-star product, but address the bugs.

Pretty darn good for the price

I have five of the conversion “kits” from MySmartBlinds... on both old and new 2-inch blinds... running for a couple of years now. Taking out the original manual tilt-mechanisms, and replacing with the MSB kits, was easy (minutes). Similarly, getting them connected to the app and scheduling them to do what I wanted was also easy.

Five stars for installation and app-setup.

I’ll ding them for one star, however, for a minor annoyance they’ve exhibited since day-one: While running on battery power, when the battery indicator gets to about 50%, they start behaving a little squirrelly. Once every couple of days, they randomly open or close for no reason, or fail to open/close when they’re scheduled to. Over the years, I have asked the company about this... and they’ve made some suggestions for resetting the schedules, they’ve sent me a new battery, etc... bandaids... but none have been a “fix”. I’m writing this because one of them *just* closed, mid-morning, on its own.

When this starts happening... roughly every two months... I just charge them all up, and the behavior stabilizes. But it’s annoying that the battery indicators all tell me they have plenty of charge remaining, when they start losing their minds.

For the price - terrific. But this long-standing annoyance is disappointing.

Hi there. Thanks for the review. We're sorry for this inconvenience. Are you able to use solar in those windows? If so, that may fix the issue. Again, we apologize. Please let us know if we can help you further by messaging us at Thanks!

Not as good as Tilt, but fine enough

The MySmartBlinds app is fine. It’s not very polished, clean, or modern like their Tilt app. It feels like an app that came out on iOS 6. Speaking of Tilt, not sure why MySmartBlinds haven’t been rolled into Tilt. Either way, the app works well enough.

The only thing that needs to be added (again, if not combining into Tilt) is the ability to control individual blinds without giving each blind it’s own room.
