best iOS synth of 2022

Nambu is amazing, versatile, and deep. It covers a massive amount of ground: it can go from very synthy modern sounds to natural instruments to experimental, weird noises.

I don't think it's accurate to judge a synth based on the quantity of presets, unless you never plan on programming it, which would be a shame. Nambu is delightful. For those looking for presets, you might periodically check in on your favorite iOS music forum(s). There are several sound designers who have released packs for the dev's previous synths.

Wah wah no presets

Make your own! Another beautiful iceWorks creation thx !

Eriptron ,

Dumb note hold design.

The feature is ludicrously buried in a ‘pull out menu’ and you CAN NOT even toggle held notes on/off individually making that feature useless, greatly compromising the ability to use Nambu for creating Ambient music. I’m about to delete Nambu writing off the $15 as a bad learning experience. They’re so amateur they don’t respond to support emails even. LayR is FAR better.

I cannot apologize enough for the inconvenience.

Nambu's keyboard hold feature defaults to reset mode. The behavior of this mode is equivalent to the hold function of a hardware keyboard with an arpeggiator. Each time you press a chord again, the notes that were held until then are reset, and the newly pressed chord is held.

You can change the operation of the keyboard hold function on the setting screen. There is a setting item at the bottom of the setting screen that opens by tapping the gear icon on the upper right of the screen. With this setting item, you can change the mode to a mode that switches the hold status of the note on/off each time you press the keyboard, instead of mimicking the hold function of the hardware keyboard.

"All Note Off" at the top of the setting screen is a function that stops the sound by sending a note off to the synthesizer engine, such as when the sound does not stop due to a problem with the DAW or the connected MIDI keyboard. An easy way to release held notes is to turn off the "Hold" button.

If these functions are not available, could you please restart your iOS device, delete the App, and try reinstalling the App?
