One is better than Simple ever was.

I was a die-hard Simple user. I loved my bank, and it was easy for me to refer to Simple like someone would refer to an old friend - not a bank, where most of the things you have to say tend to be negative or anxiety producing. When it was announced that they were closing, it felt like my old friend was dying. Honestly, it cut WAY too deep! Simple helped me figure out my finances all the way back in college, and now, close to 10 years later, their closing seemed to hit at the worst possible time. (Not like there was a “good” time for your friend to die 🥲)
All of that said, I moved to One once it was announced Simple would close. They caught me with their FAQ page dedicated to Simple users, and honestly, they’ve improved the app in so many ways since I originally transitioned that I firmly believe that One is a better bank now than Simple was at the end of its life. My money feels effortless, the credit lines and credit score features are something Simple never offered, and my money is doing better than ever. My finances are doing better than ever. One took some user feedback from Simple users to add certain Simple-esque features but it didn’t lose its individuality in the process. It improved upon itself, and quickly, at that. It never became Simple, it became a better One Finance. Protect One at all costs, I never want to use another bank. ❤️

Amazing Alternative to Traditional Bank

I had a checking account with Wells Fargo. They eliminated all overdraft line of credit for all customers - new and current. One finance gave me a generous overdraft line of credit ($800) after about 2 months of consistent paycheck deposit. I received my paycheck a day early and so far I have not paid a single fees to One Finance (Unlike traditional banks such as Wells Fargo that charges you a fee every chance they get). The debit card works perfectly fine (and without any fees) at AllPoints ATMs. The “pocket” feature is super useful. You can easily categorize your money and expenses and keep them separate. The only downside of One finance is the lack of any physical branch. But if you are like me who doesn’t even remember the last time you needed to step into a bank branch, One Finance would be perfect. Also it is worth noting that their support seem to be outsourced but that it outweighed by other benefits you get. As One Finance marketshare grows, they might turn into a more traditional corporation with all the bads that come with it since the ultimate goal of any company is to make money. But until then, I’ll stick to One Finance for now. I transferred my savings to One Finance from Wells Fargo and the interests at so much better here. I will never go back to any big 4 bank again.

Pockets are neat

I’ve had this account for a few weeks. I’ve only used it for a few purchases. It takes 5 business days for transfers from other banks to show up. The auto-save feature that rounds up your change from your purchases happens the day after you make the purchase, not automatically when you make the purchase. Every single time I open the app, I have to enter my full email address in addition to my password. I like on Chime app where I just enter my pin to open the app. Entering this app takes a few steps, first I have to tell them I don’t want to enable Face ID log-in, every single time. Then tap “log in”. Then wait for the website to load to enter my full email address and password. There is no remembering my email or my preference to not use Face ID. This is a little annoying especially because I’m accessing the app frequently to see if my transfers have finalized. I did like that I was able to add a digital card to my virtual wallet as soon as I opened the acct. The physical card took 3 weeks to come in the mail.

Update: April 2022. Thank you for making logging in more simple! I love this app and service!
