The OptimoRoute Driver App is an extension of OptimoRoute - a web-based route optimization and schedule planning tool for delivery and field service businesses. The app is used by drivers whose dispatchers use OptimoRoute to plan their routes. It gives you the route map, complete schedule, order information, and navigation in one place. The app also allows the collection of signatures, photos, and notes as proof of delivery. As you work through orders, the dispatching office stays updated with your progress. And, you can view the complete route and all orders on one screen.

Mid-day plan changes are smooth: our system takes into account what you’ve already done and where you are right now without disruption to existing routes.

Everything you need to do the route in one place:
* Supports both phones and tablets and uses minimal data
* Driving directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Here, Garmin, and more
* Works even when there’s no cellular signal or Wi-Fi
* See the whole route on the map or focus on the next thing to do
* Keeps the dispatch updated on your progress
* New or changed orders are downloaded automatically
* Seamless switching from navigation to order details
* Proof of Delivery: capture digital signatures, photos & notes

No numbers on map?!

They removed the numbers on the map overview, making a huge benefit of the app now useless. A hundred dots scattered on a map doesn’t correspond to anything now, and you can’t even tell the direction of the route you’ll be driving. Good luck if you hit a road closure, school zone, or accident, and just blindly go about your day.

Update: they responded (which was nice) noting that numbers do not populate if you have more than 100 stops, which is still backwards to me. We tried breaking up a route with 108 stops into two routes so that we the map is useful. But you need to make sure you can send the second route to the driver app after they finish the first. Couldn’t find a way to switch between or view multiple route options in the app.

Developer Response ,

Yes, when you have over 100 stops a day, numbers aren't visible on the pins. Otherwise nothing has changed with the display. We are continually working on app improvements though and would love to hear about your workflow and how we might help.
Please contact us at +1 855 338 2838 or support@optimoroute.com - we really value your feedback!

Thank you for following up! We're not kidding about wanting to help you with this: there are ways to more easily navigate through the stops even if you can't see the stop numbers. But it would be good to go over on a call or screenshare.
What's more, there are multiple ways to break a large route up - and the best way for you depends on your use case. Contact us at support@optimoroute.com, we'll go over your options and make sure you have a great driver experience!

The connection between the app and gps

This app is and will be a helpful tool to anyone who uses it. My only struggle is when it sends my drivers to the wrong address and wrong street. We input the address and coordinates for the location of each delivery. Once inputted into the computer, the app will send them out but to either a different location or behind the building. We have to actually manually enter the address on the gps to get to the right location. When delivering to places 30 minutes to an hour away, my drivers are left in limbo so to speak without the right places to go. I have contacted someone about the app but I never heard anything pass my routes. Hopefully, the developer will have this problem rectified with time or any other issues. All and All great app!!

Need fixing

App is ok but if a driver has 2 routes on the same day then we have to delete the app and download it again and go through all the settings again, please make it so that when we put in the activation key and are done with orders then we can put another activation key

Developer Response ,

Hi Janaab,

We do have a “Return to Depot” option, which allows dispatchers to automatically plan 2 or more routes a day per driver - all using the same driver app and activation key.

Please contact us at support@optimoroute.com and we’d be happy to walk you through using the feature - including planning 2 routes for only select drivers.
