When this app first came out, the rewards were great and it truly made you want to hit your goals because there was actually Rewards. They had gift cards, they had cool items, they had cool giveaways. The more this app progresses the prices and rewards get worse. It just becomes discounts and percentages off of products or free trials. So any rewards you end up earning you have to pay additional to fully receive that reward. Now with this newest update, Rewards that you used to be able to get for one week of hitting your goals, will now take weeks upon weeks because the points needed are so high free minimal reward. It’s going to take you weeks of hitting your goal to get a $3 gift card. If I did not have a 183 week streak like I do. I would stop using this app immediately. It’s like a game for me and I already work out enough so I hit my goals. There’s no point of me deleting the app. But if I was just starting out, I would immediately delete this as they have made the Rewards soooo unattainable that it doesn’t make it fun anymore. You used to be able to get a five dollar gift card every other week or every third week. And then they changed it so you had to have the app branded credit card to receive those and now you need thousands of points, which will take in a very extended amount of time. Very disappointed in the trajectory of this app, and this used to be an app. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommended this app to EVERYBODY, I no longer recommend this app to ANYBODY. Truly sad…
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, and thank you for being a long-time supporter of Paceline and our mission to get people moving. We believe that you should be rewarded for being healthy, but your perspective and feedback are both valid and immensely appreciated. It is still very much the case that Gift cards, giveaways, and partner offers from new health and wellness brands are still in the Paceline app; and we’ve even created a Paceline Marketplace to streamline the process to redeem featured items that you might be interested in. These types of rewards have always been featured in the Paceline app, but it’s completely understandable that these currently available partner rewards to up-and-coming health and wellness brands may not be the best fit or greatest motivator for everyone. With this newest update, we’ve actually made it easier to earn rewards by introducing points at 50 minutes of eHR, maintaining the streak at 150 eHR, and introducing a 300 club for those fitness fanatics achieving 300 eHR minutes per week; rather than requiring ALL users to achieve 150 eHR minutes every week. Additionally, we created a system where you can save up your points for those more valuable rewards, including gift cards of higher value than before and new reward types -- including complimentary products, like a free pair of shoes from Flux Footwear (valued at $130). That being said, we recognize that some users may prefer to see gift cards every week and for amounts of higher value. The gift card rewards we’ve provided for the past couple of years have been completely self-funded, and we did not make any money off of the distribution or transactions that are associated with the e-gift card you claim in the Paceline app. However, we do understand why that may not necessarily matter to those negatively affected by these changes. This is precisely why we’re continuing to work toward creating a more robust reward infrastructure that can materially and tangibly provide financial incentives to all users. As we continue to grow as a company and build upon our rewards platform, we equally look forward to rewarding our users at a higher level for their continued engagement with the Paceline app and their commitment to their physical well-being. Until then, we sincerely appreciate your continued feedback and your patience with us.
