Phyn lets you speak the language of water.
From the free Phyn app you can understand how much water your family uses and where they are using it the most. Get alerted the minute a leak issue occurs and run diagnostic "Plumbing Checks" to proactively catch tiny leaks before they become big problems.

I use water so randomly and switched out my irrigation water times and hours at least 4 times this summer so when I tried to help the app’s intuitive system when setting it up I just laughed and said to myself “this thing won’t ever work.” Due to my gardens-irrigation ,multiple residents, multiple structures, and hot mess of the plumbing of my 1894 home....”no way” I thought. Honestly I only bought it for the insurance discount anyways. Long story short, my cleaning lady came up to me in my office and said there’s “no water.” At first I was mostly annoyed because I was super busy and I thought to myself this is weird why would there be no water. I get Phyn Tech Support on the line and they explain to me that there’s been some sort of event and I disregard the event and said “no that’s not possible.” The nice guy says OK and he helps me reset my Phyn manually because my phone had been stolen the previous day making getting an alert impossible. After resetting the Phyn I could hear the water flowing and I went upstairs to make sure the kitchen sink was running and then notified the cleaning lady. Out of the corner of my eye through the window I see something strange outside. I look out the window and it’s a 15 foot high fountain of water coming from my garden hose that I use for irrigation. This hose is right next to my foundation. I go outside and realize that my garden hose has burst. That hose is rated at 500gph+. This Phyn did it’s job and the guy at technical support did his job and me being the idiot that I am almost flooded my basement and yard twice in the same event. Once by ignoring the device and the second by ignoring the Tech. All I can say is Phyn is amazing and the company is amazing and I’m an idiot. Thank you Phyn!
App needs some work

Update 1: got a call from Phyn support to follow up after new device was installed (great customer service!). Walked me through re-connecting after a reset (would be nice to be able to reconnect/update Wi-Fi from app vs having to delete/re-add account). It’s up and running now and will be able to test new device/app more fully. App has a few quirks, e.g. I had to set my iOS font to smallest to see all parts of screen (needs to be able to handle normal/larger font sizes). Original: Was part of pilot and see great potential for product. However, after device was replaced with retail version and new app was downloaded, setup is not working and there is no online support. Account was created and device was connected to Wi-Fi, but it had to be reset to factory settings. Now app won’t go thru setup steps when I log in to my account, and “Wi-Fi update” under settings only turns on notifications. There is no obvious way to go thru connecting to phyn Wi-Fi and then picking home Wi-Fi AFTER A RESET WHEN USING EXISTING ACCOUNT... the app screen is blank with only blue background.
Reliable Unit and App

I Installed Phyn Plus in my house a few years ago. Its a great reliable unit. It’s nice to see datas on my app on to what’s going on with my house plumbing and the electronic shut off valve comes in handy. Checks my plumbing for any leaks daily with pressure reading data report. This is a great investment for my house. Recently I had an issue, I notice after taking a hot shower within 10-15 minutes if i open any of my faucets around the house its purging a lot of water for 3-5 seconds and then slows down to normal flow afterwards which is not a normal behavior for your plumbing at all. So then i went on the phyn app right away to see whats going on. i watched the app after taking a shower the pressure goes from 50psi to 80psi which that high of a pressure is not healthy for your plumbing and appliances. So i did some research on what could cause that and I found my water heater expansion tank has failed and replacement is needed. Bottom line is this unit has helped me gather those data in my plumbing without going out and put a manual pressure etc etc.. Am very happy with this unit.
App is no longer good

This App and devise were once top of the line but some software updates have made the app all but useless and has left us searching for a new devise and app to go along. When you get notifications it automatically shuts off before you can even read what is going on (watering plants in the summer? Too bad water is getting cut off). Want to stay dined into your account? Too bad it no longer allows you to do that. We have a auto fill on our pool which will pull a few gallons at a time. The app thinks this is a leak even when we tell it we know what’s going on and each time we have to sign back in with every notification. I have deleted the app and reinstalled hoping to correct it but no luck. You must sign in every time you want to look at it and it does not allow apple to save your sign in or use face recognition. It use too but no longer after update. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for this sort of technology.
