Great for the hardcore player, okay for the casual player
I’m app purchases and pay to win are highly debatable aspects of all games, but at my point in the game I haven’t had to worry about that. The game is very entertaining with many different mechanics from battling, gathering resources, building your army of worker ants, and upgrading your chambers. I also really appreciate the scientific accuracy in fire ants farming aphids, and the informational bits underneath every chambers info. One thing I feel I dislike the strongest though, is that ants do not gather recourses while the player has the application closed. I really can’t think of any reason that this wouldn’t be feature, and I believe this would make the user experience for the casual player exponentially better. Collecting resin would be a hard work around, as every now and again a worker or a soldier ant will be killed by a termite, but a good answer might be a similar system to that of the red ant colony’s mechanics. From what I can tell, the game prides it’s self on being as scientifically accurate as possible while still remaining interesting, and I don’t know enough about the world of insects to be able to tell if it would actually work like that. But if the point of the game is to educate as many people as possible, then to reach a wider audience, the game must be more well suited for the casual player.
Very addicting game but...
So you may have seen the title and it is very addicting I have a problem though the spider spawn is way to long and the map is too small there is no other food sources like human food the solider ants cost way to much food and it’s really hard to progress in the game like the slave chamber when I need it I need more body parts and it’s hard to get body parts when the creature you want to capture is gonna be the body parts also can you add more then just two creature on the map instead and the gems it is very hard to get gems and you can’t friend people to help with your army there should be a invite friend button and when you click on it you get a boost also the red ants also have a long cool down before you can kill it again the pheromones are hard to get because there is only one creature you can get it from and there is another way to get it but your army maybe to small to fight it
P.S This is a good game just needs more work put in to it
Good game with potential.
The game itself is very addictive however it does get repetitive at times and lacks content after a couple days of play. Firstly there are really only 5 major things to do in the game. Capture the red ant hill, capture the aphid farms, kill/capture creatures Battle other players and wait for your ants to collect resources. Most of the time you are just waiting around doing nothing while you either breed soldier ants or wait for your ants to collect resources which becomes boring very quickly. On top of this the playable ant can’t really do anything special. I feel like with more things on the map and slightly reduced spawns the game could be much more fresh. As well as this, it is very tedious and resource depleting to train soldier ants, only for them to all be lost in one battle. Honeydew is also far too difficult to get and more sources of it should be implemented. The Halloween update was a good addition although it really didn’t add much if you aren’t willing to pay for more pumpkins. On a final note, upgrade times seem absurd on the late game side of things, waiting 7+ days for a single upgrade. Overall, with more content and polishing this game could be very popular and become a great way to pass time or play with friends if expanded.
